I didn't think the refs were unusually bad and thought the crowd overreacted, which is what home crowds do. I haven't gone back to read comments during the game, but one (of several) BYU goofs that really bugged me was the delay of game after the great interception and return. With the clock winding down, and three timeouts remaining (which were never used), couldn't SOMEONE see the utility of calling a TO? Instead, a completely avoidable penalty that let a bit of the air out of the sails, giving us only a FG.

Still, very happy we're 4-0. Game ball to Arellano, btw.

Actually, I was going to point out that very call. That was a bad miss. Also, there was a BS holding call on a run of Taysoms, I think. But two bad calls ain't bad.

That holding call should have been an illegal cut block, but they called holding.

We got away with the no call that should have been a false start on us. BYU really needs to clean it up though. So dumb and unnecessary.

We won't face another front 7 like that all year. They were legit.

What I am liking most about this team so far are the second half adjustments. For whatever reason we're really turning it on in the second half. Nice to see.

I completely agree. I saw it coming too and was freaking out in the stands. That's an inexcusable error and completely on the coaches.

Inexcusable. I was frustrated with the lack of fans that went to Austin. In the last Texas game a couple years ago we had a huge group from the ward go. This year only 6 people from the ward were there and three of them were Ute fans that cheer for BYU in games like that the other three were me and my boys. Disappointing.

My understanding is that the punt counts and they walk the ball back five yards from where the punt was downed.

I think what we need to do is score more. Also, we need to let our opponents score less. If we score more than our opponents in every game, we should have a successful season. Yeah, I've always been a big picture guy.

Yes, the key is to out-sports the other team. If we can consistently sports better than the other team is sportsing, we should be good.

Disagree on the refs. All of the PIs involved DBs not looking at the ball. And you never know what words are being said on the unsportsmanlike calls. And that was no horse collar.
I thought they called it fine.

Agree on the no-call with the horse collar, but the PI called against Daniel on their last possession would be left uncalled in most cases and ESPN never provided a clear second angle on the Preator call right before their last TD. Re the Taetu PF - he didn't actually say anything, at least there was no visible language on the replay. He just paused with the slightest pose for a half second after the tackle.
