  • This has surely been discussed but does anybody know if BYU has ever had another season in which they defeated 6 teams that ended up in bowl games? I kind of doubt it.

Just wondering after seeing that even MTSU ended up 8-4.

It is pretty crazy. UW will be the 9th bowl team they play. Sucks we lost to two of the teams that didn't go bowling.

How many bowl games are there now?

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

There are 35 bowl games. I read a tweet the other day that only 8 teams (including BYU) ended the season with 6 wins vs teams with a winning record. Unfortunately they are all in the top 10 while we're unranked.

70 teams participating. The surfeiting of bowl games certainly exists.

I preferred the days before the BCS when every bowl winner could enjoy it, and when there so many fewer bowl games. Once upon a time I knew most of the bowl games. Now with 35 I'd be hard-pressed to name half. The had the Rose, Orange, Sugar, Cotton, Blue-Bonnet, Tangerine, Fiesta, Sun, Gator, Liberty and the Holiday with a few others. The numbers really exploded once you didn't even need to have a winning record.

I agree it's kind of sad that a substantial majority of Div. 1-A teams receive a bowl bid. Going to a bowl is like my receiving one of many Participant ribbons. Nice job! You almost made contact on that last pitch! How embarrassing for the kid (or team) that doesn't even merit a ribbon.

                Peach Bowl.

As a kid, I always liked the sound of The Peach Bowl because peaches are one of my fave fruits. The "Peach Bowl" sounds juicy and delicious. A bowl of peaches is far better than a bowl of cotton or roses, or even a bowl of sugar or a bowl of oranges.

Now it is called the Chick-Fil-a Bowl. I don't like to think of the "Chick-Fil-a Bowl." A bowl of Chick-Fil-a sounds neither juicy nor delicious. Instead, it sounds fattening, homophobic, and closed on Sundays.

                I miss the Peach Bowl.

While I do enjoy Chik fil A lemonade, I would choose a bowl of fresh peaches every time.

How about a bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream?
