It's Monday and nobody has come up with a clever title for the ND-BYU game

Seriously. Between the Cyclone game and the Wisconsin game we are in serious need of a slumpbuster to pull us out of our funk.

Or a loss to the Irish to complete the trifecta. :livecoug:

No worries, the women's soccer team lost their second round NCAA tournament game against Colorado last night 2-1!

This has been a truly sucky year for BYU sports. The isu loss grates on me like no other, except the loss to Utah. Who loses at home due to an inability to hit free throws?!

I keep waiting for a good year. 2014? Won't happen in bball but what sport? Cross country?

How many years has Bronco known our Oline sucks but he has done little to rectify that.

I think that he signed 9 OL in the 2013 recruiting class with 5 of them being JC guys means he knew that the line was a fairly large weakness. I also think a big reason Dr Bob is back is because of the OL. But yes, it did take him longer than I would have liked to really identify and figure out what was wrong offensively.

He has had a rather poor Oline most years he has been coach. It is fundamental football. It starts with good lines.

Trust me. You and CJ are wasting your time. Topper is the most pessimistic BYU fan in history. Nothing you say will convince him that the sky isn't falling. I feel sorry for him as it must be a miserable way to go through life.

Actually, men's cross country is looking like a likely top 10 finisher at the NCAA championships today. They are ranked #8, and a couple of weeks ago the NCAA gave their top runner from 2012 (Jared Ward) an extra year. With Ward in the lineup, they have a pretty good shot at a top 3 finish. I live about 9 hours from Terre Haute (the site of the championships), and I gave some thought to driving down there to watch (I ran CC in high school and follow it a bit closer than most minor sports).

Really? Football is won in the trenches? Huh, had no idea. Beautiful insight.

I can't think of many (any?) who have been more critical of Coach Weber than me. I'd felt that he should have been fired four years ago, so trying to tell me that the OL has sucked is something that I agree with. But it's very clear that this is something they've tried to address this offseason. IMO in years past, the larger issue was coaching as I felt like the talent was there, the line just underperformed. This year, I think the larger issue was talent deficiency, which is why I think BYU went after 5 JC OL.

I do think progress has been made, and while they are definitely the weak spot of the team and aren't where they need to be, the issue has been addressed. You don't turn a unit like that around dramatically in one season, especially with a lack of talent/inexperience. Next year should be better with Kearsley, Fabojule, Wesley, Matthews and Crichton hopefully all healthy.

Time to wake up the echoes of Jamaal Willis, Hema Heimuli, John Walsh and the rest of the 1994 team and bring home the dubya!
