Although Michigan hasn't resurged quite like Alabama has resurged. An even better example would be Ohio State, which is currently in a state of surgence notwithstanding the fact that its winters are cold and Ohio is the worst state ever.

I think there are several states vying for that title. Ohio is certainly in the running though (to be fair, my experience has been limited to Cincinatti & Columbus and some horrible toll roads). I hear Dayton is nice though filled with odd people.

I would be totally fine with the Big 12 trading both TCU and West Virginia to the B1G for Nebraska. The Pac-12 can keep Colorado.

Blame the Catholics. Had Notre Dame accepted their invitation to the Big Ten; Nebraska would never have been invited. Colorado was leaving regardless. And there's a good chance Missouri and Texas A&M stay in the Big 12.

Until someone can prove otherwise, I will go with those who have told me during the negotiations the BIG 12 decided BYU would be a pain in the ass. Thus TH speaks the truth when he says BYU never had an offer.

Resurgence happens (Texas, USC, Oklahoma and Alabama have all faded and surged back) but it doesn't happen in locations that suck, are freezing cold and where there is no institutional depth to help the lagging football team revive.

This is a cheap and hackneyed argument that I hear all the time. Location matters, but not as much as people like to pretend. We seem to forget that a decade ago Notre Dame football was dead cause South Bend sucks and they couldn't "recruit the black athlete" due to their academic standards. Whoops. For 40 years San Diego has been a team on the verge of massive success because they're in San Diego! I'm still waiting. A great recruiting coach is a great recruiting coach and if he can bring in kids, a program succeeds. Location helps or hurts, but does not make or break a program.

But the Catholics have redeemed themselves and been our allies in the independence charge! We have tied our fate to theirs. They helped us get on our independent feet agreeing to a long term series... 4 for 2....where none of the BYU home games have been scheduled yet.

Everyone has their reasons for liking or disliking another University. The plus's in pulling for BSU you describe quite adequately.

However, like with about every University I have ill will for, it is because of the fans. Do the fans I ran into represent the majority, probably not. However, my free agency allows me to go ahead and feel just fine everytime BSU gets their ass kicked.

wtf? If you went to Boise State or live in the area, cheer for Boise State. Otherwise wtf are you cheering for Boise State?

You support both utah and byu so im not surprised you also cheer for boise state.
