If this team is as good as we all hope, it will win out the regular season, pretty simple.

Breaking Badger: BYU vs. Wisconsin

You're contradicting yourself here.Originally posted by USUC View PostI was frustrated by the loss as well and the continued struggles BYU has against good teams, but I don't think this game stains the season in any way (UVA and Utah already did that). BYU is a work in progress and has been for a while. First year of a new system and BYU has pretty good wins against Texas, GT, and Boise.

A few thoughts from the roadie to Madison.
* Milwaukee is an old, ugly town. We tried to find a place to eat late Friday night, without much success. Though my 15yo can now say he has been (very briefly) inside a gay bar. Who knew a place called Hamburger Mary's would be the go to sight for Wisconsin cross-dressers?
* I don't think I've ever seen as many bars, beer tents, and frat parties per capita, as there were in Madison. Pre-game we got offered several beers, mostly in jest walking along up Regent to Camp Randall. Every campus has its bar row, but there seemed to be an usually large number in Mad town.
* We arrived a couple hours early, in thoughts of walking about campus. It is a very spread out campus, but there didn't seem to be anything to visit or do, other than the stadium itself.
* Camp Randall is a great stadium, but much like Notre Dame the bench seating was made for 1920s hips sizes, not 2013. I made the mistake early of telling ddd, I haven't seen very many overweight Wisconsinites; apparently they don't show up until the 2nd quarter. I watched most of the second half with my shoulders at a 20 degree angle, because the dude next to me was so big, I couldn't sit normal.
* We were surrounded by a bunch of cougars, not Cougars, but 40-60 year old women who arrived drunk, liked to swear, and chomped on unlit cigars. Unlike a lot of the other Badgers, they were big fans of Stave. I didn't know why, until he came over to the sideline without his helmet on. He looks who central casting would pick to be USC's quarterback. One of them also loved Jared "Abracadabra"
* By far the worst part of the trip was sitting behind the 2013 version of Damien. Yes, the spawn of the devil is an incarnate 10yo Wisconsin fan. This little punk would not shut up, he literally turned around and taunt us, throughout the game. When I told him to sit down, and turnaround, he flat out told me, "No!". What kind of kid does that at age 10. He seemed to be part of some kind of Big Brother, or school activity. There were 10-12 boys with one adult (sitting at the opposite end, as this hellion). By the 3rd quarter all the Wisconsin fans were telling this little sh** to be quiet. He didn't listen to them, any better than he did to me.
* The Jump Around was cool, but over-hyped. Though I did show the video I took to my, and they thought it was cool. I did like that 2nd teamers on UW got into the jump around too.
* One tradition I think LES should Ute (steal) is recording players karaoking. It was fun, and got the whole crowd singing along by the end. It definitely seems like something that would work well in LES.
* The Minneapolis-St. Paul airport is the nicest major airport I've seen. Everything is clean, well organized and up to date.
I had a great time at the game, it was well worth the roadtrip. I would liked to have seen a different end result, but the better team won.
More of a grandma, than a cougar, but a fun person to sit by nonetheless

Hmmm.. I cant figure out how to insert a photobucket video. Click on the pic or the link below, if you're interested in watching the jump around

I'm not giving you a pass here. This happens to you often enough that I now think you either attract these fans or you elicit this type of behavior from otherwise well-behaved fans.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View Post* By far the worst part of the trip was sitting behind the 2013 version of Damien. I think ddd, can vouch I was guiltless this time. This little fart even caused a notorious non-swearer to call him an a**hole.

I'm not too upset about this game. It's basically what you expect when #30 travels to #20, which I think is a decent assessment. We got outplayed, but not not by much. If we hold on that last drive of the first half and then make a few more plays, it's a different game. Of course, you can say that about any game within two scores. Our line got torn up. I think that won't improve drastically until next year. Taysom didn't shine as much, but you don't expect linear improvement, a few bumps are to be expected. All in all, good but not great. You need great to go into Big 10 territory and knock off a top 20 team.

Guys he was 10 years old. It could not have been that bad. Maybe he needed a father figure to set an example. Calling him an asshole didn't help.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostI hated his stinking guts and he was an a**hole so he deserved to be called that and more.*Banned*

Maybe a good father figure would have said, "Son, don't be an asshole. Shut up."Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostGuys he was 10 years old. It could not have been that bad. I didnt call him an a**hole. I told the adult chaperone that the kid was an a**hole. The adult quickly clarified that the boys were not his.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostGuys he was 10 years old. It could not have been that bad. Wisconsin is probably underrated at 20. Their loss to ASU goes without saying, and their other loss was a 7-point loss on the road to undefeated (two years running) Ohio State. Like you said, they don't get that score before half, and it's a different game the rest of the way.Originally posted by jay santos View PostI'm not too upset about this game. I don't know if it was mentioned in this thread, but it has been discussed the importance of picking up that first 1st down in a drive. We get it, our offense gets in a rhythm and rolls. We don't, we struggle. Definitely something that needs fixing, or just make sure we get that first 1st. Saturday should bea good test gamepractice for us to see what our scoring percentage is when we get that first 1st of the drive.

My original post was unclear. We were remarkably patient with this future WI inmate; we only complained at the end, when whoever was escorting him, came into view. Other than telling him to turn around, we tried to talk to him as little as possible. A couple of the ladies surrounding us, wanted to spank him....a couple of the other ladies seemed to want Borland to spank them.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostI didnt call him an a**hole.
