I just did a quick check using google maps. All of the teams that I have supported since my childhood were located within 41 miles of my home. If the Lakers and Kings werent playing in Inglewood at the time, it would have been around 30 miles from my home.

Giants are 36 miles from my hometown
Spurs- 1486 miles
Dolphins- 3,113 miles

I do follow the Sharks, I am not a big hockey fan but I root for them. They are only 56 miles away!

I appreciate the sentiment but am torn because as a Laker fan I want you to hate me.

If it helps, I am happy to hate you for choosing to be a Laker fan over a Clippers fan. Both were acceptable choices growing up in LA. Of course, unless you are a masochist why in the hell would you choose the Clippers.

I also have put aside my animosity against the Dodgers and wish them well in their endeavors. The enemy of my enemy is my friend and here is to the Dodgers exerting pain and suffering on the Giants. May the Dodgers be blessed with meeting the A's in the World Series and getting their asses kicked.

Kings should be very good again this year. I'm still surprised they didn't give the Blackhawks more of a fight last year. The West this year is going to be bloody with the Kings, Blackhawks, and St Louis battling it out. That right there is 3 of the 4 best teams in hockey.

Im excited for the season. they never really got out of the gate because of the shortened season but as long as Quick is in the net, LAK has a chance.

I still hate Jacques Demers and those dirty Habs locker room attendants, btw.

The Islanders were just starting there run of four straight when I started taking an interest in hockey but between being terrible for thirty years and making a vow to never cheer for a team from New York that didn't last long. I like seeing kids from the U.S. do well and right now my favorite team is LA because of Brown and Quick.

I claim local team exemption for BYU being my team B. Plus, according to UF.n, Colorado is now Utah's rival. Also, I attended 2 of BYU Rubgy's National Championship games at RSL stadium, cheering for them both times, and witnessing them win it once.
