  • Whole family went to the game. Had a really fun time. The defense is for real.

Hill will eventually have to win us some games with his arm, so I hope he can at least get his completion percentage past 50%.

Super great atmosphere, my kids really enjoyed the game.
Will donate kidney for B12 membership.

    • If someone puts a bullet in Manny's head and I'm on the jury. I'm acquitting.

      This thread is gold!
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Utah's defense will not fall for the read option the way Texas did. They will force Taysom to beat them through the air. I'm still not convinced he can. Utah is resurgent and Whit doesn't lose these games to BYU very often. He is a master of game tape and finding weaknesses.
Crying that the sky is falling in the second quarter of the game is not a good defense.

I don't have any credibility to restore.

            • I really like Hine returning kicks. Its a shame his two biggest returns have been called back because of dumb penalties.

It shows our RB depth. Williams, Lasike and Alisa are all really good. Hine is right there too.

Oh come on. Its easy to come in after the fact and point this stuff out. At the time it hill was completing under 25% of his passes. How the hell were we to know that Texas wouldn't stop the read option. Where were you when this stuff was originally posted?

That's a funny comment to read after we put more rushing yards up on Texas than any team in history.

                    • Just saw a vid of the Cougar Walk and thought it was cool. How long before the game is this taking place?

                      • Winner of best prediction from that ShaggyBevo board goes to this guy:

I see a lot of people here giving that BYU offense too much credit. I have as little faith in Manny as the anyone, but watching that UVA game showed me some serious futility against a middling program. For a guy who's supposed to be dangerous with his legs, Taysom Hill did not look impressive at all. He'll pick up a few first downs, but he's not going to dominate a game with his legs.

                        • Jamaal Williams needs just 85 yards per game the rest of the regular season to crack the top 10 in BYU career rushing yards as a SOPHOMORE.

Our OLine was excellent at rush blocking all night. There is no justification for claiming they can't rush block. Pass blocking still needs some work, but the rush block was very impressive.

You're right. I won't disagree. All of this aside I'm super excited over this win. I can't sleep. And Texas... Go home now and pull yourself together and win out for hell sake.

                              • I just can't wait to see how people explain how this wasn't a big game ... since we know BYU is not capable of winning big games.

On a more serious note, Anae received a lot of undeserved shit from a lot of so-called BYU fans this week and deserves a lot of credit (along with his staff) for putting this performance together. It should not have been surprising that it would take some time to put this offense together, and the strides they have made in just a week are insane. There is still a ton of room for improvement. Taysom can throw a pretty ball anywhere on the field, but it doesn't always go where it needs to go and he and his receivers are not on the same page in terms of running routes. That is stuff that can and will get better. Comparison of Taysom to Riley are idiotic. Riley did not have anything close to the arm strength and mechanics that Taysom has. Calls for Ammon Olson are even dumber. You would think that after tonights performance, people would be praising Taysom. Instead, I heard several dumb asses call in to KSL and 1320 suggesting that Taysom was merely a clone of Riley and should be benched for Olson.

What should not be in dispute is that the offense we saw tonight was better than anything we have seen since Anae left. Tonight was a huge victory for the coaches as much as anyone else.
