Tuesday's and Wednesday's are sweet MAC and Sun Belt matchups. It's amazing that a college football game can be played in front of so few people. 10's of 100's of people scattered throughout tiny stadiums.
Maybe there should be a split in college football. It's embarrassing.
So apparently there's going to be a good college football game tomorrow evening just fifteen minutes or so from my office. I'm thinking of going to Stanford Stadium alone to see if I can score a singleton at a reasonable price (ideally, $50 or so) just before kickoff. Is this a fool's errand? Predictions on what a single ticket would cost at kickoff? HFN, can you send me some gear? Actually, don't, as that probably won't enhance my chances, but I have no particular love for Stanfurd.
I should probably just go home and tune in, but my commute has become so horrific lately I'd just as soon spend the lengthy rush hour in a stadium.

Oregon Stanford, Baylor Oklahoma. I'm not sure there are two more interesting games this weekend for me outside of BYU v Wisky. Excited for tonight!
Times change. There was a time when Oregon-Stanford was not at all interesting and Baylor-OU was a conference doormat playing a top program. Nebraska plays Michigan in the Big House this Saturday and neither team is ranked.

I chickened out and bought a ticket for Stanford/Oregon on Craigslist. Ten-yard line about 20 rows back for $75. First time in a while I'm attending a game where I'm more interested in simply seeing a great game than in who wins (sorry, HFN). On balance, I'm hoping for a Duck victory, though, as I'd like to see them play Bama.
I haven't been to a Stanford game since the Crowton ugliness. I'm certain I'll be happier after this game than the last one.

If Oregon wins we are that much closer to an undefeated Urban Meyer being left out of the title game. I also want to see 5 undefeated teams from power conferences. That would make the playoff powers nervous before they even get started. The sooner it gets to a full 8 team playoff the better.

You know that in 2001 Stanford was Oregon's only blemish and gave way from your Huskers to get the privilege of being pounded by Miami instead of the Ducks getting pounded right?
