I've said all along that Utah making a bowl with this year's schedule would be a huge challenge. After last night's game, I just don't see it happening. The Utes have to beat BYU and OSU to have a realistic shot at a bowl.

Why? Who do they play that's good? Stanford and Oregon? Maybe UCLA? So that's 2-3 losses. They get UCLA at home, so even that is winnable. Outside of those teams they should be able to beat everybody on their schedule.

I guess the biggest thing is that we know so little at this point about how good teams will be, but I can see USU being about the 3rd or 4th best team on the utes schedule this year.

If I am to believe the pre game, Utah just beat the best QB in the west, so there's that.

We see this every year. Teams we thought would be good aren't that good and bad teams are better etc. That as they say is why they play the games.

Vanderbilt just shifted their Oline two guys to the right and the tackle snapped the football. Not sure I've ever seen anything like that.

One last thing about the Utah USU game. It send like Kyle always has some ace up his sleeve in regards to a special team weakness he sees in film. He apparently saw some weakness in USU's kickoff return coverage and did the onside's kick. Same thing against BYU when they blocked the field goal in 2010.

That was it. On the play, they ran their RB to that overloaded right sight and an unblocked defensive back came fromt the left and dropped the back for a loss. Looked cool, but didn't work so well.

They should have run to the weak side. It worked all the time for me on NCAA Football 2003 on the Game Cube.

Exactly. Whether they're behind or in a tight game and using some trickeration to change momentum, or way up late in the game and just being turds, an on-sides kick or fake punt is always a possibility with the uofutah.
