I hate that ditty. But it is sure is effective, at making me remember despise the company. I'm just grateful, Senor Wrubell no longer quiero's Taco Bell.

        http://www.forbes.com/pictures/emdm4...s-longhorns-3/

Rank Team Conf Value in Millions
        1 Texas Big 12 $139
        2 Notre Dame IND $117
        3 Alabama SEC $110
        4 LSU SEC $105
        5 Michigan Big Ten $104
        6 Florida SEC $94
        7 Oklahoma Big 12 $92
        8 Georgia SEC $91
9 Ohio St. Big Ten $83
        10 Nebraska Big Ten $80
        11 Auburn SEC $77
        12 Arkansas SEC $74
        13 USC PAC-12 $73
        14 Texas A&M SEC $72
15 Penn St. Big Ten $71
        16 Wisconsin Big Ten $70
        17 Washington PAC-12 $66
        18 South Carolina SEC $65
        19 Oregon PAC-12 $64
        20 Tennessee SEC $63
At a glance, I think the SEC is over-valued, especially Arkansas and South Carolina. USC deserves much better than #13 and it's hard for me to believe Washington is more valuable than Oregon. Noticeably absent is the ACC with Florida St. and Clemson. I hope BYU is close to making future lists.

Wow, #6 Florida has a value of $94 million and still isn't profitable.... http://www.cougarstadium.com/showthr...=1#post1050690

Edit: Wait... Is the "King of Sports" guy full of crap?

Edit2: I guess they still pull money from the tax payer and students because they can.

This is why I root almost exclusively for football teams from private institutions. Although, maybe they are also benefiting from the tax payer.

WARNING: Nebraska football post coming so Lebowski and others can stop reading.....

It is a myth that Nebraska is becomming irrelevant because they can no longer recruit Texas and the South as part of the Big Ten. Nebraska started becomming irrelevent after Tom Osborne retired as HC. They were already irrelevant in the Big 12 and probably just as irrelevant in the Big Ten. In my view, Nebraska stands a better chance of becoming relevant once again in the Big Ten.

The reason I point out the myth of "shooting themselves in the foot" by joining the Big Ten and thereby losing Texas and southern recruiting is because Nebraska has always recruited Texas and the South with some success. Their starting QB and one of their starting WRs is from Texas. Their starting RB is from Alabama and their starting TE is from Louisiana. And that's just on offense. On defense, over half of their starters are from Texas. Both DTs, OLB, and 3 DBS (the other starting CB is from Miami).

Since I also live in Texas, I know Nebraska continues to keep a presence here and sign recruits. Keep your eye on Adam Tyler from Katy, TX as I think he will be the next Nebraska all-Big 10 RB. He's from Texas/South just like the last two have been: Rex Burkhead (Texas) and Amer Abdullah (Alabama). I also took a look at recruiting numbers. The past 5 recruiting classes after Nebraska announced it was leaving the Big 12: 24/105 players were from Texas; about 23% . The 5 recruiting classes in the Big 12 prior to Nebraska's Big Ten announcement: 21/130 players from Texas or about 16%. So it's a myth that Nebraska can't recruit Texas as a member of the Big Ten. Nebraska will continue to recruit Texas with some success in the Big Ten just as they did in the Big 8.

              Even so,
I do agree that Nebraska is somewhat irrelevant. As a college football fan, I enjoy reading posts on this board about other programs like BYU, Utah, USC, Oregon, Ohio St., and others even if they are irrelevant.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. They were contractually obligated to mention it. Just like at Utah games the past two years the announcers are contractually obligated to mention that dres andersen is flipper Anderson son and Jake Murphy is Dale Murphy son

So do I. I remember the announcements at the games, and I think a lot of what I enjoyed about it was that it was an active streak. Nobody could catch up; all BYU had to do was score some points. When the streak was broken, I thought of the age I would have to be for BYU to reach that number of consecutive games again. That wasn't a pleasant thought.

One of my friends swears to this day that FSU let BYU score three points that one year because Bowden respected Lavell and didn't want to be the streak-ender.

I remember that ditty well, and Paul Ruffner. Not to mention Kari Liimo. And Marty Lythgoe. And former Highland Ram Doug Howard.
