I'm sure Nick cares a lot about the Austin music scene.

I thought that was funny, too. Saban worked in Lansing, baton rouge, and Tuscaloosa. All really lame towns. He clearly doesn't consider cultural or entertainment options when choosing his employer.

The music is a metaphor, dude. Have you tried the food in Alabama? Barf...

Rumors are that his wife has already purchased a home in Austin. It will be interesting to see. If nothing else, he could probably parlay all the rumors into another raise at Bama.

              Hasn't he suffered enough?

Uh, yes, I have tried the food in Alabama.

It's hard to see why he would go for something he would have to build into a lateral move. Even with Texas' resources it would be really difficult to win 3 of 4. Besides we have got a solid shot over the next couple years of putting it back together.

There are reports now saying that Alabama is playing defense...increasing sabans salary to 7mm per. Of course I also read that Texas was going to offer ten years at 10mm per.

Yeah, probably a long shot. But there was an article in the WSJ a few weeks ago where his wife was saying that folks in Alabama have become spoiled with success and they aren't appreciated like they should be. Who knows?

Pshaw... They could scrounge up that much under the couch cushions at the Alumni House.

Your Texas barbecue does not even compare. Otherwise you may be right. I hate Southern food.

I have a friend who teaches at Auburn. He grew up in India so he loves spicy food. He is dying there.

                            • So Saban is going to leave one of the best coaching gigs in college football to go to Texas?

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

Harsin it is. The coaching hires are fascinating. So much diversion and politics.
