I'd have gone for 2 there. That makes it so they can only tie you with a TD and not win. Who cares if you are up five or six?

I'm no statistician, but I'm guessing the win percentages on going for 2 in that situation are probably between 60-40 and 50-50. I didn't necessarily like or dislike the call, but I admit it made me think "hmm, does a two TD lead really benefit you that much here"? In the end, though, I think it's the right call. The upside of a 14-point lead probably slightly outweighs the downside of only having a 12-point lead as opposed to a 13 point lead at that point in the game.

There's a lot of money at that school. The SEC prints money. There's not a ton of jobs that are steps up from it, despite aTm being down for the last decade.

They seem to have a pretty big Tshirt fanbase that gets more rabid the better they are, and their culture seems to fit in to the SEC perfectly.

They keep up like this, and he won't have any reason to go anywhere. They'll be a top 10 program.

You really think there is no argument that can still be made that Bama is better than KSU or ND? Really? Teams can lose a game and still be a top 2 team quality wise(if not in ranking).

I do. If they didn't even have to win their division and played in the BCS title game, there's no reason to think that this loss will keep them out of that game.

There is no way that Alabama jumps an undefeated Oregon or Kansas State. They might jump Notre Dame.

Yeah, I don't see many programs that are a step up from Texas A&M unless it's Alabama, Notre Dame, Texas, Oklahoma, etc. Sumlin looks like a legit coach though, amazing that Manziel is doing this as a redshirt freshman.

Well, it's very, very sad for Alabama but THEY LOST.

When only two teams can go, and the other teams are undefeated and have better or similar SoS, then you don't get to go.

I don't care what touchy feely notion they feel about how good Bama might be. The SEC is not nearly as great this year. They lost on their own field to a lower ranked team, just like last year.
