Then why are you LOL'ing at the BYU fans that voice those complaints?Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostBesides items #1 and #5, the rest are fan complaints I've heard about both coaches. Whether or not they are relevant or accurate is purely a secondary consideration.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Indy finally admits that he doesn't care about accuracy. I have always suspected as much.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostBesides items #1 and #5, the rest are fan complaints I've heard about both coaches. Whether or not they are relevant or accurate is purely a secondary consideration.

Crap - now I have to be accountable for stuff I typed more than 5 years ago!Originally posted by falafel View PostThis confirms my suspicion that Indy is an automaton.
I'm not quite sure what to say. But I like to think that if I was going to be somebody's groupie, they would at least meet goatnapper approval.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostYou have groupies. Impressive.
I have to admit, for whatever reason I kind of enjoy an argument now and then. And when people throw out absurd opinions as being fact without any basis or criticize over actions that when taken in context aren't as illogical as you might think - I like to think that I'm a voice of reason. For whatever reason, I just can't let that go. I probably have that in common with Indy.
My experience has been that Indy backs up whatever argument he is making with stats. They may be his interpretation. There may be other ways to look at them. But I appreciate the fact that he doesn't tend to throw out subjective opinion based on biased recollection as being fact.
If that makes me a groupie - well...whatever.
In complete disclosure...I was a bit of a Crowton defender. I don't recall ever saying he was a great coach - I just thought there was enough REAL stuff to criticize him for that it bothered me when folks started making stuff up or criticizing things he had no control over, ie: the same day travel for the Reno game. Looking at the circumstances, I thought that decision might be questionable, but wasn't as cut and dried as folks made it out to be.

The accuracy revolves around the fact that these are complaints that can easily be found about both coaches. After living in the Philly TV market for over 5 years, listening to local sports radio about Andy Reid was often like deja-vu all over again after reading Cougarboard about Bronco.Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostIndy finally admits that he doesn't care about accuracy. Sorry for dragging you into this Eddie. I have tried to explain myself in the same way that you did, but no one chooses to listen to me or believe me so I figured your additional credibility as an "unbiased" party would come in handy in this instance.Originally posted by Eddie View PostCrap - now I have to be accountable for stuff I typed more than 5 years ago!

So - if football was 5th in Philly, what would come 1-4?Originally posted by TexTechCoug View PostIt is sort of pathetic that my suggestion that Bronco could succeed in Philly has been buried in a thread that has turned into the aggrandizement of Indy.
I also think he'd have to re-sign Chad Lewis so that someone could speak at the firesides. I've been to one Chad spoke at - he's pretty good.
