Ziggy is a very big guy. I watched him on special teams against Weber State and they put three guys on him every time. It was funny to see these three little dudes try to handle him. Ziggy would just push them around. And when the play was over, they would keep at him, he would just ignore them like flies and ask the refs to make the go away.

It seemed like he impacted the game more than KVN last night. That is saying something because despite the BSU offense focusing on stopping KVN, he still had a very good game.

        Word on the street
Scouts searching for the next Jason Pierre-Paul have descended upon BYU's campus to take a long look at senior Ezekiel "Ziggy" Ansah. The 6-foot-6, 270-pound linebacker has drawn comparisons to the New York Giants' star due to his speed, athleticism and burst, despite having only three seasons of organized football under his belt. Ansah, who hails from Ghana, originally arrived in Provo, Utah as a track athlete (Ansah reportedly clocked 21.9 in the 200 meters) before making his way to the football team in 2010.

While he remains a raw, unpolished player at this point, an NFC South scout described Ansah as an "athletic freak" with unlimited upside. If he can continue to put flashes of dominance on tape over the course of the season, it wouldn't be surprising to see Ansah enjoy a late run up the charts heading into the 2013 NFL Draft.

jay santos is right; he had five years from enrolling in school to play four. He actually enrolled in 2008, ran track in 2009, and is playing football from 2010-2012.

I was really hoping his TD would stand. Dude deserves to get one the way he plays.

Watching tape on BYU DL Ansah #47. From Ghana, didn't play FB till 2010. Raw talent! Rare burst for 280lbs. Thanks Rod Gilmore for the tip

Rod can't take credit for the tip. At the beginning of the broadcast last night he called him "Izzy" Ansah.

Ziggy had a lot of highlights against Hawaii, of course. One of the things I like most about watching him is that he looks like he's having a lot of fun. You can't teach that.

Before this year, Ziggy just didn't look confident and I think that hurt his aggressiveness. After the first game or two this year, I think he finally found that confidence and he has really cut loose.

It's just a terrible shame he didn't start the process his freshman year. I would love to see where he could be with another season.
