I was just searching for pictures to use for an Avatar and I came across a RN quote from the Daily Universe from back in August:

“There are people who think I am out there reckless, just running around,” Nelson said. “What they don’t realize is that every risk I take, every time I choose to scramble down the field, those are all calculated and thought-out decisions. I will continue to implement that part of my game.”
I got a kick out of that.

That is a great quote. Here is another one from the summer. This is Doman speaking about Riley.

"If he's above 65 (percent) with his abilities and the things he does, gosh, we'll be hard to stop," Doman said. "Because of his ability to run and escape, he's not a traditional drop-back guy. So we'll see some errant throws, some balls hit the ground and we'll all go, 'What in the world is that?' It's just Riley. That will sort itself out. As many reps as we can get him and (chances) to manage the chaos, along with his ability to do what he does really enhances this offense to a level we haven't seen in a while."
lol. I still get a kick out of that. I've never heard of an OC telling the media in the preseason to expect the senior starter to make errant passes, throw balls into the dirt, and cause everyone to say, "what in the world was that?"

In hindsight, Doman was fairly accurate about that part of his prediction.

That's the grossest picture I've ever seen.

Anyway, the countdown is now down to two games. We're getting so close!
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Is he buried in a graveyard? If not I expect Weekend at Rileys will be in full effect.

Maybe some health care professionals can weigh in here, but what are the long term effects of the type of injuries Riley has incurred playing hurt? Is this kid going to be battling pain his entire life now because of this?

Riley really putting the "I" in "Team" again today after practice.

Mendenhall says Nelson "not healthy enough right now" to be considered Poinsettia Bowl starter.

                              Jay Drew ‏@drewjay
BYU's Riley Nelson said he could play today if he had to, said he fully expects to start in bowl game.

Nelson, when asked how important it would be to him, personally, that he play in his last game as a Cougar, said it's "extremely important."

"I haven't gone through what I've gone through to sputter out towards the end," Nelson said. "I really want to finish and I want to finish strong. Hopefully it can work out that way."
