Reid will become BYUs HC right about the time we accept the Big 12s desperate pleas to save their conference."Sure, I fought. I had to fight all my life just to survive. They were all against me. Tried every dirty trick to cut me down, but I beat the bastards and left them in the ditch."

The Eagle fans can scream all they want for Andy's head this season... I don't think he's going anywhere. Hell, it's Philly... the fans scream no matter what.
If he does end up leaving Philly... There would be another professional job available for him before he ever considered coaching college again... and if he did accept a college job... it would most likely be at a very prominent football program at a high paying university.
I wouldn't be holding your breath awaiting his return to BYU. No ill-will intended, I just don't think that this is realistic.Last edited by Devildog; 12-11-2011, 12:33 AM."We should remember that one man is much the same as another, and that he is best who is trained in the severest school."

I don't think it's going to happen either. I know he's mentioned wanting to come back to BYU, but it probably won't ever work from a timing perspective. By the time Bronco is ready to hang it up, I'm guessing Reid will probably done coaching. Bronco is grooming his replacement right now in Doman.Originally posted by Devildog View PostThe Eagle fans can scream all they want for Andy's head this season... I don't think he's going anywhere. Seriously why would you want one of the most successful coaches in the NFL? Makes zero sense.Originally posted by Mormon Red Death View PostYou guys actually want andy reid as your coach?

If Andy Reid is fired by Philly I think Penn State gives him a look.*Banned*

I know Viking is upset about Pres. Uchtdorf cockblocking him and cougar fans everywhere over byu not going to the Big 12. But big decisions like that are required to be unanimous, so understand that Independence has a very solid support from the First Presidency and the Twelve, along with the BOT. This is why Andy Reid is unlikely to coach at byu: hiring a big time coach would mean that football is a major priority for the university, which is contrary to every action they have taken over the last few years.
That said, Reid would be a fantastic hire. I am a fan of Andy Reid, and believe he would be very successful. Sadly his son would have benefitted from living in Provo and perhaps would have avoided many of the problems he got himself into.
Thought question: has a successful NFL coach ever gone on to fail at the college level? I can't recall any.

Lavell was clear whom he thought should be his successor. He was just off by a decade.

I don't think Andy has any interest in the job given the current political / administration climate. I think he'd like to run a program like LaVell did but not sure that's in the cards anymore."It's true that everything happens for a reason. You can't recall any because they don't go back. Robinson and Walsh are the only two successful pro coaches I remember going back to college.Originally posted by NorthwestUteFan View Post
