We also got polygamy and Joseph Smith jokes. Part of this is BYU's football reputation, and part of it is Utah=Mormons=BYU or whatever is associated with Mormons. Once when we played Pepperdine in basketball in L.A. we got Donnie and Marie jokes. It's OK, just part of the territory. It will change over time with the greater exposure the PAC-12 brings.

OK, I will bite. Until this year I could probably tell you where Idaho and Idaho State are located, but that is it. I wouldn't have been able to tell you the mascots or any other difference between the two schools.

Probably not, But they'll know the difference between BYU and Utah. You know, heathen school on the hill, religious school in the valley. One evil, one good. The things everyone in Utah already knows. Except for people from Carbon County, who tend to be a little slower on the uptake than most. (But when they shine, they really shine - e.g., HL and The Notorious.)

The trash talk from the Alabama fans in the bar before the UofU-Alabama game was all polygamy this, and gold bible that. I responded with marrying cousins and what not. It was all fun and games until they tried to pick a fight after the game... Like I'm going to get in a bar fight over a Ute win and people thinking mormons are weird...

Probably had more to do with the fact that they were drunk off their ass and their team just got embarrassed. Though, I wasn't particularly sober either (read: super inebriated), so maybe, just maybe, I took the opportunity to rub the loss in their arrogant BCS faces and said a few things more like what my CUF persona would say, than what my real life day-to-day persona would say.

I mean, who has ever heard of drunk guys doing/saying stupid things in a bar? That never happens, right?

EDIT: They were being very BCS arrogant prior to the game, loudly proclaiming Utah had no right to be on the same field as 'Bama and that Utah would get crushed. So, it was fun giving it back to them, right up until the point they got in my grill.

The percentage is declining, so if current trends remain, yes it will happen. Already, SLC proper is right around the 50% mormon mark.
