I apologize if anyone has already posted this. Steven Gary Smith's piece in the Dec. 17 Sports Illustrated, "Stand Up Speak Out," is a gem. Beautifully written, enraging, heartbreaking, and inspiring. Well worth reading. Everyone, especially those who've been affected in any way by pedophilia or underage sexual abuse, should read it.

That's a stunning article. The stories are inspiring, but so sad and laden with evil.

As a victim myself (which I think I've mentioned before), I cried when I read that. Cried because it is true and inspiring. Amazing piece.

I don't get why the NCAA thinks they deserve anything. The victims deserve every cent from that fine, not the NCAA. This makes the NCAA even worse, in my mind. The NCAA is profiting from a horrible mess.

Penn State deserved the death penalty. The NCAA initially gave strong sanctions which were not nearly enough and then whittled them down to nothing more than a slap on the wrist. No school has done anything even close to as bad as Penn State and they barely are even punished for it.
