    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

The second black man was discovered 20 miles away but he was 38. Neither were Penn St. students and their deaths, according to police, were not related to Penn St.

So what we have is a student advocate of minority issues who has received death threats and has become aware that an AA football player has received the same. She goes to Paterno, JoePa appears to be unmoved - "I'm just a football coach". They organize a sit-in on the football field prior to kick-off at the Blue-White scrimmage and get arrested. A few days later bodies of dead black men are discovered - one 3 hours away and another near the vicinity stated in a death threat but not a student or affiliated with PSU. PSU administration did take security measures for the student body including round-the-clock protection for the individual named in the death threat. They brought in state and federal organizations to investigate and offered a reward for for information. But it was deemed too little, too late by the student protestors.

But somehow JoePa is at fault because he didn't turn in his former DC whom he probably knew was a pedophile. It's important to note that all this occurred before the McQueary incident. If we look hard enough, we can probably link JoePa to 911.

JoePa ran PSU and like many there they treated him like God. This was a time where he could of once again been proactive in a situation that was not good for PSU and was dicey like child rape. But once again he does the least possible and washes his hands of it.. All for self preservation and to save his own image and brush it under the rug.. I see a pattern here..

To me, all this does is add more criticism to the fact JoePa was not who we all thought he was.. Some Old school type coach who was more about teaching kids than being successful on the football field.. It is becoming clear he is no different then any other coach.. He's a fake...

          • Jen Engel w/ a unique take on the situation:

I am a mom. And what I know for sure after 2 1/2 years on this job is there is nothing more scary than the thought of your kid hurting — any kid really. If a woman had happened into that shower scene, I almost guarantee she does not leave without the kid.

If that opinion is sexist, I’m OK being viewed as one. Because that opinion is the absolute truth. Of the 20 people listed in the grand jury report as being alerted to Sandusky’s criminal perversion, one was a woman. Guess who called police?

I saw this. I am not rooting for cancer. However, the timing of this disclosure seems to be a transparent play for sympathy.

My thoughts exactly. Also, this could explain why he transferred his home to wife, but I doubt it.

                          • Just read the ESPN article calling on PSU to decline a bowl invitation. Very compelling arguments. I, however, disagree. If my boy were at PSU, I'd be pissed at the lack of institutional control. I'd be even more upset if it boiled down to my boy by hampering his career.

Don't give me "insensitive SOB" replies. Put yourself in the shoes of the hundreds of parents all hoping their boy gets drafted. They feel the same way. This sucks all around.

Agree. When a child is raped it shouldn't negatively affect anyone's lives.

Meh. This was allowed to happen because people valued football over everything else. I say hit them where it hurts. Kids have missed out on bowl games for far lesser sins that were out of their control. There's another team of young men who will be able to enjoy a bowl game.
