If the AD was charged, sounds to me that JoePa got a pass because of his celebrity status and possibly his age. I'm not saying Paterno will get charged with a crime but if the county DA wanted to they easily could.

Where is the evidence for any of those crimes? You have none. Do you even know the elements to any of those crimes in PA? The DA and grand jury apparently determined that he fulfilled his legal duties and did not lie to a grand jury. I wonder where you are getting all the facts that the grand jury isn't aware of. From the grand jury report, Paterno is not in the same boat as the AD.

Basically saying this isn't about joe, isn't about his legacy. Way bigger than football and and joe paterno. at heart is one of the most deplorable acts That can be committed by a human. This is about the victims and what they faced and are facing.

Joe didn't step up, the president didn't step up, so the board stepped up and made the decision for them. There may be a time to reflect on joes career and legacy, but this isn't the time.

Sorry. I can't control how you interpret the words on the page. I don't know how to write in a more detached manner. I've tried to be polite, avoid careless use of facts, etc. FTR, I feel nothing for Paterno, I'm no fan of Penn St, and I thought it was sad, his clinging to his job all these years. I was in favor of the school giving him the boot long ago. I just don't think he's the villain in all of this. But I can imagine that there very well may be more facts that would lead me to the conclusion that he is much more culpable that it seemed from the grand jury report, which I read.
