We are deciding the future of our football program based on QB play against Idaho St, New Mexico St, and Idaho, I find that incredibly troubling. Bronco already threw out the TCU game from the equation.

Yeah, run the scout team and get his mojo back.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Our coaches decided to give all the scout team reps this year to Kuresa(who leaves on a mission, and will never play a meaningful down at BYU as a QB) instead of Lark or Munns who it would actually be useful for.

Don't the red shirts make up much of the scout team? Are there any active players on the scout team? Can anyone clarify?

We have non-redshirting OL on the scout team I am pretty sure. All of the TE's last year from our 5-TE rotation played on the scout team last year.

Bronco confirms that Jake is open to red shirting. I'm assuming that is IF Riley breasts him out next year. See? Y'all were getting worked up over nothing.

If Heaps redshirts next year, you can pretty much write him off as a QB, time to look at Hill for 2013.

I've tried to imagine what this looks like and I think I have sinned in doing so.

I think it's safe to assume if Riley finishes the year strong he will be the starter next year. I wouldn't expect much of a competition.

Goes back to my post, "We are deciding the future of our football program based on QB play against Idaho St, New Mexico St, and Idaho, I find that incredibly troubling. Bronco already threw out the TCU game from the equation".

While that may be true, it isn't like it is just a whim that they do so. I think they are pretty well aware of the fact their jobs depend on how well it works out. If Riley is the guy, it won't be because they are better friends with him.

We are now past the "our coaches can do no wrong" phase and on the field doesn't matter as long as the firesides are good.

We are in the "if we don't produce on the field, we get canned" phase.

I hope for Jake's playing sake in 2012 they don't use any of the ones he played in as determining factor.

Bronco actually said Heaps was "excited" about the possibility of redshirting.

Of course he is. That's part of the process of transferring.
