Say what you will about their schedule, they're the first team in 80 years to win 10 straight games by 25+ points.

They're not just beating teams, they're obliterating them.

      Except the game's in Tuscaloosa.

I'm really excited for it. I would TiVo the Utah-Arizona game if there's a conflict.

Yeah they beat Washington, the same Washington that struggled to wins over Eastern Washington and Hawaii, eeked by Cal all in Seattle. They have been on the road 3 times, were given a victory by Utah with 64 turnovers and have now been blown out twice. What exactly does beating Washington prove? Also how is Luck leading the Heisman race, because he is the best pro prospect? The tree's biggest game of the year and he has 170 yards and 2 TDs?
That game was over midway through the second quarter. Do you think he should still be tossing the ball around at that point?

Stanford will get its chance to prove itself. If it beats USC and Oregon and assuming Okie State falls like it always does, Stanford will be in the title game.

(Isn't there some kind of rule against two conference opponents playing each other in the title game? Without this rule shouldn't it just be a rematch of Alabama and LSU?)
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

If Kent st beats No. Illinois they are going to a BCS bowl.

Why would they get selected? I thought the only guarantee for non BCS was to be top 6. Will they be top 6?

I think if Kent State finishes in the top 16 in the BCS standings and is ranked higher than the Big East champ, then per rules they get a bid. That's what ESPN explained at least. They will finish ahead of the Big East and right now they sit at 17 in the BCS standings. UCLA is sitting at 16.

From the BCS selection criteria website:

                    3. The champion of Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, the Sun Belt Conference, or the Western Athletic Conference will earn an automatic berth in a BCS bowl game if either:

                    A. Such team is ranked in the top 12 of the final BCS Standings, or,
                    B. Such team is ranked in the top 16 of the final BCS Standings and its ranking in the final BCS Standings is higher than that of a champion of a conference that has an annual automatic berth in one of the BCS bowls.

If they do get a bid I hope for their sake they are paired with a Big East team.

Another awesome benefit of independence. Byu does not have to get embarrassed in a BCS bowl with no guarantees unless ranked number 2!
