Despite my efforts he is a ducks fan. And a cougar fan. HFN hooked me up with tix (stud) and I was supposed to take my 3 sons. But, they decided that they wanted to play in their flag football games so I took some neighbors who are ducks fans and my wife. We had a great time. Eugene is a terrific town to visit and Autzen is Autzen. Loud. We are hitting the Oregon Stanford game as well with some ward members. I love college football! But, I'm getting too old for this much hectic travel.

If you haven't met HFN yet, he's quite possibly the nicest guy I've ever met.

Yeah, but I'm not too surprised. I have heard over and over again from the national media about how he carries way too much of the load and with continued poor QB play it is just a matter of time before he gets hurt. Bummer.

Could be Georgia which would make Richt keep his job. Although I still think that SC wins tow of the final three (loss to Ark.).

Are you happy with the Lane Kiffen hire and/or the job he is doing so far?

If the answer is yes, (apparently for DDD the answer would be yes) I'm surprised and encouraged as a fan of SC that two people who follow them more closely than I do don't have a problem with the hire or his 8-5 season last year or that the way they've played so far this year. They look to have virutally no shot at a beating ND, Stanford and Oregon. Again, I'm not as diehard as you or DDD, but 4-5 loss seasons (I could see them easily losing to UW as well) don't cut it at SC as far as I'm concerned.

USC is an absolute top notch job and I think they can do a lot better than hiring a guy who had two short stints as a HC previously and was bad to average at both stops. Based on what I've seen so far, he has yet to prove me wrong.

ha. read my post in the Oregon thread. I still think it was a risky hire, but he has definitely proved me wrong as it has worked out this year. I'm happy to be wrong in this case. I can't imagine a coach doing a better job than what Kiffin has done with this USC team. That said, a coach is judged on what he does over a period of years so it remains to be seen how this will work out in the long run. Again, for now, I'll give credit where credit is due.
