I'm not convinced the Utes are good enough to deserve the BCS championship game. I very much believe they're good enough to win the Pac 12 South and beat Oregon in the title game, and then win the RB. I've been wrong before, though. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Are you talking about BYU? Pretty sure it's 4 home games a year minimum on ESPN networks.Originally posted by NorthwestUteFan View PostMuch like Friends of Scouting, the real bottom line dollars and their usage is kept secret from the huddled masses (who contribute said dollars).
ESPN's commitment was 'up to' a certain number of games/yr. 0 is included in the 'up to' number, but perhaps they will buy the game instead of airing a HS game. Go Vandals. 2nd best team on the Pallouse.

Then your desire for ASU to win makes no sense.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostI'm not convinced the Utes are good enough to deserve the BCS championship game. Also, if you really believe that about the Utes, you are saying they are good enough to finish in the Top 4 or 5 in the country, which is where the RB winner finishes. If you believe the Utes are a Top 5 team, then you should believe they "deserve" to play for the title.

It does make sense. I don't want to hear you blather for years about how USC was the real Pac 12 south champ in 11.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostThen your desire for ASU to win makes no sense.

I'd rather win the Rose Bowl and be the ELO Chess no. 1 than play in a BCS "championship game". (Don't bother saying that this is stated like a mid-major fan. I disagree.)When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Trust me, you will hear no SC fans talking about division championships. There are no conference Championship banners in the coliseum. In fact, they only place they commemorate conference championships is in the basement of heritage hall on a mural next to the drinking fountain and bathroom.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostIt does make sense. I would be honored to have have the Utes, in their inaugural Pac 12 season, win the most glamorous conference in the world, and then win the ROSE BOWL whatever Moranic voters say.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostTrust me, you will hear no SC fans talking about division championships. Well maybe once we get to the halfway point of winning big like SC has (80 years, we've got 10 in the books), we can afford to have that kind of (well-earned) elitist attitude.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostTrust me, you will hear no SC fans talking about division championships. As for me, I will be thrilled with essentially the same goal/result we had in the MWC for the last 20-plus years -- to ensure that every HS kid who signs with and plays for four years at Utah is a part of a "championship" team. IMO, winning MWC, shared/outright, isn't much differernt as a division crown in the Pac-12. Whatever comes after that is gravy.

Not Tech.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostIf people rank Tech after a miracle win over Nevada then voters are really pathetic.
Texas is ranked and undefeated. (Bye this week)
OU is ranked and undefeated. (won)
OSU is ranked and undefeated. (won)
Baylor is ranked and undefeated. (won)
aTm is ranked and undefeated. (loss by 1 point)
KSU is undefeated. (Beat miami on the road)
Iowa St is undefeated. (Bye this week. Beat both Iowa and UConn.)
I'm guessing that aTm won't drop completely out of the top 25 and either Iowa St. or KSU or both could break in the top 25. It is possible for 70% of the big 12 teams to be in the top 25."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

I'm with TU. USC has the infrastructure, talent, resources, and tradition where they can take PAC titles for granted and expect national titles. Utah is nowhere near USC.Originally posted by Top Ute View PostWell maybe once we get to the halfway point of winning big like SC has (80 years, we've got 10 in the books), we can afford to have that kind of (well-earned) elitist attitude.

Utah's goal is winning the PAC-12. If, in the process of accomplishing that goal, they have the opportunity to play for a BCS title, it would be incredible. If not, I wouldn't be disappointed."I don't know the origin of said bitch booming."-Art Vandelay

Exactly, there are only a handful of schools that really are national title contenders. Even in the BCS conferences there are haves and have nots.Originally posted by BoylenOver View PostI'm with TU.
