Not likely to have 18 months to hit 5000+ posts, but just as groundbreaking
"The first thing I learned upon becoming a head coach after fifteen years as an assistant was the enormous difference between making a suggestion and making a decision."

"They talk about the economy this year. Hey, my hairline is in recession, my waistline is in inflation. Altogether, I'm in a depression."

The sooner the better. Get on w/ it. I'm dam fine w/ closing up the shop, letting the lawyers settle up the damages and get on w/ building the next Big 6. Only condition is that UT/OU/OSU/aTm/Tech pay out the nose. I'd imagine this will be possible. Honestly, I'd rather follow the Jayhawks to Provo than Austin. Freaking equatorial hell hole down there.

Dude you're probably going to be in the Big10 if all of this goes down.

Perhaps. The money will be nice, but, honestly, KU Athletics Incorporated doesn't need the money. They're swimming in it. We're not Ksuck/ISU/CU. We pay our bills. I'd rather not be tOSU's little country cousin w/ our red-headed adopted sister, UNL. Now we're slaves to Chip Brown's twitter feed. Soon we'll be slaves to that Northwestern dude w/ connections in Chicago. Sucks either way.

Will be nice, though, to watch KU/Michigan State go at it on the hardwood. Much more competitive than KU/Teja$$ has been.

You'd rather go to Provo than Austin? You've been to Provo, right?

Hey, you heard him, BO. He loves Provo. Provo is awesome. Don't question the wise words of our esteemed friend from the great state of Kansas.

We're bringing back the Big 6 minus OU/OSU/Colorado plus Baylor/BYU/Louisville. It's gonna be awesome.

Austin is Kanzas only about 25 degrees warmer. Same rolling hills and prairie. I don't like big cities and the place just feels like a traffic jam. I've been to two games down in Austin and didn't really enjoy either one. I've followed the Jayhawkers from Oregon State to UVa. I've seen the Hawks play in every Big 12 stadium except Texas Tech's. I saw a game down at Ol Miss as a youngster (my mother's school). I'd much rather go to a place w/ some class like Lawrence or Boulder or Oxford or Charlottesville than to go to these erector set aluminum/steel monstrosities at OU/UNL/UT/aTm. If I want to watch bad pro football, I'll head on over to camarohead and watch the Chiefs.

I've been through Provo once in the early 90s. Seemed like all the towns in Utah. Nice and clean. I'd like to see a game out there by the Wasatch Mountains. Much prettier than dreadful Austin Texas. I only request access to a liquor store after watching the Jayhawkers play most of the time. Surely they have one in Provo?

I think there is one in Provo, but it probably closes by 7:00.

Provo is nice and clean, and the fans will treat you well, but there's zero gameday atmosphere, and LES itself is not a great stadium. The setting is great, but the stadium is not.

As for the liquor store, there is one in Provo (I've been there 3 or 4 times myself), but you better stock up before the game. They do close early.

If KU ends up in the Big Ten, they won't be a slave to any Northwestern dude. It won't be needed because the Big Ten is a stable conference. If one is paying attention to some Northwestern dude's twitter feed it will be because Notre Dame or KU is joining the Big Ten not because the conference is about to implode.

I think KU would be a great addition to the Big Ten and hope the Jayhawks get invited along with Mizzou. If the whole pod thing is the future of super conferences, I rather like the idea of a pod with KU, Mizzou, Nebraska, and Iowa.

Another good thing about the Big Ten, is that it isn't run by just Ohio St. and Michigan. I doubt Jim Delany is beholden to any one (or two) school because there's also Penn St. and now Nebraska. And hopefully, Notre Dame in the future. Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Michigan St., etc. will all get there say as well, along with KU and Mizzou if they get invited.

Also, the Big Ten seems like it would also be a good hoops conference for KU to play in as you already mentioned.

he wasn't speaking comparatively? Then he has been to fewer venues than I thought.

I offer grief counselling on the side. Business has been slow recently.
