Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

                • Utah's drum and feather is a great helmet, one of the best in college football, IMO. The double U helmet, not so much. Looks too much like Houston's helmets:

Also the stripes on the pants and socks look stupid.

                    • Ooooooooooo, warpaint.
                      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

                      • Stange look. Old Houston helmets, 90s style Nebraska jersey/pant combo, and some non-PC warpaint on the thighs? Is that really the best that Under Armour could come up with?

I won't agree that it's a great helmet, but it's certainly an iconic one. The drum and feather was always instantly recognizable as Utah. People are going to see this latest uniform scheme and say things like "Oh cool, I wonder who Louisville is playing?"

Ha ha, that's exactly what I thought, especially after a quick glance at the letters on the sleeve of the leftmost image. With the quartering angle, it does look like UL at first glance.

                              • As I sit in my office waiting for patients to show up, I am 100% convinced that I could design a better Utah uniform right now.

I would go back to candy scarlet helmets. For the helmet logo, I would fall in line with Utah's attempt to appeal to ignorant fans who know nothing about Miami, and just go with a white big block U on the each side of the helmet.

For the home jerseys, I would go all white, with candy scarlet red accents. Players would keep their numbers on their backs, the fronts would have "UTAH", a small American flag underneath the collar. Over the left breast I would make a weekly patch with initials of a Utahn that the school would be honoring. Sort of like Thursday's Heroes. You know that each game would get a little human interest blurb on the Utahn being honored, and the Utah brand gets a little bit of positive press every week.

No more need to hijack Native American culture, old Houston helmets, or have warpaint on your pants. You're welcome Utah.

Edit: You also do a blackout game once a year, and a retro game vs BYU every year. You wear the old drum and feather 90s uniforms, we wear the old royal blues.
