Hokie Stone. It's different, but I like it. Certainly better than Maryland's pride 2.0 unis. Man I hated those. I have no idea why Maryland is so damn proud of its ugly ass flag.

What do you like about it?

Hokie Stone is an iconic pattern for the Blacksburg campus. It's a locally-quarried stone that was used in the construction of the original campus buildings and is still used in new construction at VT. It would be analogous to Alabama using a houndstooth pattern on their helmets.

Not usually a fan of gimmicky uniforms, but this is cool ... for one game.

I kind of like those MD flag helments. I didn't particularly like living in MD (much better looking back), but I like those helmets.

It's a cool idea but does not translate to helmets. Those helmets are awful.

That's kind of like BYU sculpting helmets to resemble little facsimiles of Y Mountain or something. I give them points for vision and ambition, but subtract points for ridiculousness. It kind of detracts from the general credibility of the institution, but great job from an artistic point of view.

I can't tell anymore when people say things because they really believe it or because they're looking for a reaction. Detracts from the general credibility of the institution? That has to be something said to draw a reaction, because I'm sure at the top of the list in terms of how credible a school is, what their helmet looks like has substantial influence.
