BYU ticket office: Master Mahan

There are stub hub tickets aplenty, plus all over the web. Prices are going to drop like a rock.

If BYU starts out 3-0, this is definitely a game I will want to attend. The stadium was awesome and BYU got good seats. I wonder why not this time.

Maybe because BYU was just happy to get TCU to schedule with them especially in October and was willing to bend over to do it. Because TCU had to scramble to fill the October schedule hole created by BYU/Utah leaving the conference I am guessing TCU reluctantly agreed to this game under special terms including that their fans got the best seats. I have to wonder if BYU got any lower bowl tickets in their allocation to this game.

I asked a similar question earlier. I think it is because the BLUE RIVER SHOOTouT was a neutral site game (despite the crowd being won over by BYUs gritty smash mouth play), so the stadium sideline seating was basically split.

The TCU game is just a home game for TCU, so BYU will be seated accordingly, after TCU is given preference for faculty, admin, season ticket holders, etc.

Judging from the link Uncle Ted posted, even TCU students get better seats than BYU.

We probably should have bought 4 more Ute tickets seeing what they are going for on Stub Hub.

I have a feeling given that TCU is only returning three offensive starters (only one on the OL) and they have two freshman QBs backing their starting (but hurt) sophomore they are going to have a rebuilding season. From the local reports Patterson has been in a very bad mood at practice concerning his offense. I am guessing they might lose two games out of {@Baylor, @AFA, @San Diego St} before playing BYU. If BYU wins three out of {@Ole Miss, Utah, UCF, @Texas} and TCU has two or more losses then these tickets should be cheap.

Edit: Of course, this game is not going to sell out and upper bowl tickets will most likely be for sale at the game.

In a sort of sick kind of way - I think I am OK with this.

After the last couple of years, I want all of the TCU fans, faculty, admin, season ticket holders, and even students to have a great view of the beat down (that I hope/anticipate BYU will give TCU).

i wonder who is paying $315 for row 35 uppers to utah, sjsu, idaho state, and idaho. the ticket office really pushed their chips all in when they required the bundle purchase. if i purchased tickets on a game-to-game basis, there's no way i would be interested in that.

Maybe they don't want SJSU, Ida St, Idaho to feel bad when not a lot of people show up to their game at LaVell's big house. If folks already have the tickets then they might feel obligated to use them or at least give them to some of the kids in their ward.

I bet it's not so much a money issue as it is getting tickets sold to report sellouts or, given the home schedule this year, numbers as close to a sellout as possible. If that's the way they want to go, they should reduce the prices for those extra crappy games.

Yeah, just reduce the price to the crappy games if the want the attendance numbers. Of course, Idaho tickets being dumped for as little as $4 on stubhub already so they may have to set the price pretty low.

They could have a "scout night" and/or convince the MTC to let the missionaries out for a game or two. That would get the numbers up.

A great September will sell the stadium out in the latter half of 2011 even at moderately high prices.

I like the MTC idea. Too bad we aren't playing SDSU this year.

BYU could even put "Welcome Mormon Church" on the jumbotron before the game or during timeouts, along with other birthdays and large groups in attendance.
