According to the radio this am, Van Noy has beaten out Kaveinga. The brash hothead over the semi-experienced statesman.

Tony Bergstrom does okay against BYU, but I saw him get handled by that TCU guy, and it's hard for me to respect someone who got burned all game. Like Travis Uale- one bad game and I think he's a scrub forever. Funny how that works.

D Christopher is a big question mark, but Apo is too. Let's see if Apo can withstand hits without injury.

I'm still scratching my head over Blecchen's move. Why? Why? Why?
Cullen vs Reynolds is not even close. Braden Brown vs Cullen is probably a wash.

Beaten him out for what? It was my understanding that Kaveinga was playing MLB and that KVN plays Sam.

Well, Van Noy and Kaveinga play different positions. Van Noy-OLB, Kaveinga-MLB.

And how. Of course Van Noy is going to beat out Kaveinga, but Uona shouldn't have to compete against KVN. That's like saying Leon White couldn't beat out Kurt Gouveia - you want your best athletes on the field.

Yeah, but they were ranking LBs. Van Noy at the top.

As for Cullen, Junkie I think you don't give him enough credit. I love Matt, and he might be more disciplined and stable and reliable and experienced, but Cullen has this explosiveness. Or something. Good things happen to the Utes where Cullen is.

I agree Matt is better than Cullen. I won't argue that. I will however argue that he is better than Brown. I like Brown and think he is a good tackle but I think Cullen is a better than he is. It is hard to compare lineman though.

                  LT - M. Reynolds
                  LG - T Bergstrom
                  C - T Stevens
                  RG - B. Hansen
                  RT - J. Cullen

Those are the top 5 lineman in IMO if you combined both teams and you can get all 5 of them on the field at the same time if one of them can play center.

                  Q.B. Heaps
                  RB - Juice
FB - Don't really care and in all honesty there isn't really anyone that would stand out and make you say he would be the guy.

                  WR - D Christopher
                  WR - Apo
                  WR - Dres Anderson

                  TE - Moeai

Defense, I am going to run a 4-3 because that is the defense I prefer.

                  RE - Manu
T - This is a tough call between Aiono and Fangupo.
                  NT - Star
                  LE - Shelby or Finau

Probably the deepest of all the positions. I love Utah's D line. I think both Fangupo and Manu would be in the rotation if they played at Utah. I am not sold on Fuga being back to 100%.

                  LB - Pendleton
                  LB - Van Noy
                  LB - Blechan

                  CB - Black
                  CB - Lacy
                  SS - Sorensen
                  FS - McGuill
I see your true colors shining through...

So you picked 13 utes, 8 cougars, and have 2 toss ups. I guess I dont need to ask who you think wins on September 17th. Its also nice to see you think utah's oline is better than byu's. I have a feeling that if you asked Chow if he would swap olines with BYU he would do it in a heartbeat.

Are you going to argue against any of my picks or just say I bet if you ask Chow which O line he would take that you have a feeling he would swap olines with BYU in a heartbeat? I think that Cullen, Bergstrom and Stevens are better than the lineman BYU has that are not named Matt Reynolds or Braden Hanson.

As for who I think is going to win on September 17th, I don't think that just because i picked 12 Utes really says who I think is going to win that game. Some positions impact the game more than others.

You need to take some of the feelings you have to TKD's thread about feelings for this season:

I think it would be a huge risk at this point to take Langi over JJ.

HL also picked 1 1/2 BYU lineman, but I bet if you asked Bronco if he wanted to swap "dlines" with Utah he would do it in a heartbeat.

Langi is unproven. JJ isn't even the best running back on his team.

I agree. JJ doesn't really excite me much, but he's been pretty stable. Langi could be great, but who knows?
