That doesn't make any sense. Is Utah in the habit of focusing on games other than the one they will be playing that week? What about this year, when the week after the BYU game is a bye? Will the Utes necessarily be focusing on taking a break before they gear up to the play a fabulous Washington Huskies team? Or perhaps they'll necessarily be using two weeks to prepare for the mighty Huskies, which is a home game for the Utes, btw.Originally posted by wally View PostI am saying that Utah must necessarily focus more on conference games, now that they are in an AQ conference. I would think that this makes sense.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Wake up. He is saying that when the Utes were in a non-AQ conference, they didn't have to focus on conference games.Originally posted by falafel View PostThat doesn't make any sense. Can't you find just a little warmth in your heart for one of your alma maters, then one that gave you the professional graduate degree that enables you to make fabulous sums of money?Originally posted by falafel View PostThat doesn't make any sense. Okay, now I'm awake.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostWake up. He is saying that when the Utes were in a non-AQ conference, they didn't have to focus on conference games.
They probably better stop scheduling non-conference games then, since they have to devote 100% of their mental energy and practice time to getting ready for them.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

Do coaches not ever study opposing teams in the off-season? Honest question. I was under the impression that they did. I would assume that more study this past offseason has been spent getting up to speed on new opposing teams.Originally posted by falafel View PostThat doesn't make any sense. Which would explain how Whittingham's teams have lost to every single MWC team.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostWake up. What does that have to do with in-season preparation, which is apparently when the Utes have no time to focus on BYU?Originally posted by wally View PostDo coaches not ever study opposing teams in the off-season? To answer your actual question, I think I remember Bronco or someone saying that they don't study last years film too much because teams can change so much from year to year that the value in old film isn't that great. But who knows, maybe that's just one guy's take.Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.
