In all honesty, Utah really has very little to gain from playing BYU each year, and much to lose. But tucking tail would be the ultimate bitch move, and Utah's program would never live it down, even if the actual game doesn't benefit them as much as it once did.
Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

That is the reason they will continue to play each other at LEAST every other year until the rocks crumble. It hurts just a bit to give up one of three potential OOC games every year, but the truth is the game is always energetic and is an easy 'road trip' game for both fanbases. It will always be a money maker for each school.

Maybe BYU needs to nut up and force the NCAA to allow a 13th game for all teams they play, a la Hawaii. Certainly there are some high-powered graduates of the Rube who would love to get in on this action, non?

LOL! BYU was also mentioned in this article, but not for being the 'co-most-important-team-in-college-football':

The Utah Utes are the Most Important Team in College Football

But Boise State cares. TCU also needs Utah to win. Interestingly enough, so does BYU. Any outsider program that wants its 12-0 record to be taken seriously needs the Utes to find big success in their new home.

I'm not surprised that the author already assumes BYU will go 12-0.
