Blood testing will never happen. The players union doesn't want it and the owners are ambivalent. It's one of those issues that the owners will put on the table just so they can take it off and appear conciliatory."The mind is not a boomerang. Superman savior of the world ultimate badass Drew Philips is not on Steroids. Please correct your statement to say "Other than Drew Philips, anyone who can run a sub 4.4 40 is on steroids".Originally posted by RedSox View PostAnyone who can run a sub 4.4 40 is on steroids."Take it to the Bank"

I'm sure Lavell knew that there was steroid use going on in his program to some degree. That's not the same thing as passing them out at practice. I played with kids in high school that used. The coaches had an idea but were powerless to stop it.
If I had to take a guess about who was using a certain defensive lineman in the mid-eighties who ended up playing pro ball would be at the top of my list. He was a tall but very skinny QB in high school.

Hahaha, I'm not "back." I never left. I was serious about that being my last post. I didn't say a word for nearly two months. I took too many credits for spring semester and I realized I was spending more time writing on here than I was studying. Eight credits in spring is way too much for a guy who already has taken four years to complete two
No, but seriously: Obviously my uncle's words were exaggerated a little. I don't doubt that they reveal a little bit of a defensive attitude towards the subject, as he was a BIG user himself. But he DID have a lot of friends on the early 80's BYU teams. My family met the Kozlowskis through him. I just remember they had tons of Ghostbuster toys. My only memory of that. My dad used to play Tetris with Glenn till early morning supposedly. Koz was competitive in EVERYTHING according to my pops. My aunt still talks about meeting "Sweetness" from the Bears and how he really was so sweet. Jimmy Mac introduced them all.
Now, I'm not saying anything about McMahon or Sweetness or even Koz. I don't know any specifics there. But my uncle was friends with BYU and NFL players, no doubt about it. And he claimed some pretty heavy stuff about things that were going on at BYU when he was there and after, and that his brother provided/provides tons of NFL players with the stuff they need to keep going. And looking at that brother of his...man...I have a hard time doubting that.
Now, who wants to hear the sweet story about how Glenn Kozlowsky made the Chicago Bears before I disappear again amidst the NINE credits I'm taking in SUMMER semester? (I got my prescription for adderal today, haha, so I think I can swing it now.)Last edited by taekwondave; 06-18-2011, 02:04 AM.
