That's not even the point here, the point was that you were trying to out right attack somebody because their new and not a BYU fan. Stop acting like me being a Ute fan even matters, I follow BYU and watch all their games just as much as Utah. None of these latest posts have been any bias against BYU whether you think so or not. BYU has accomplished a lot (and arguably more) than Utah, they deserve a good conference.

Does BYU deserve that 1984 National Title? Absolutely, but looking at other teams on their schedule, and their W-L record, (they only played 1 ranked team - Pitt), it doesn't impress me more than some of TCU's, Utah's BCS wins, but BYU absolutely deserved it.

Compared to our previous and current situations, I don't see much wrong with the beast.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

It's actually a step forward. Not the same step as a B12 position would be, but an improvement to anything BYU's had in its history.

At least BYU and Utah fans alike can be glad that no matter what conference they are in, they aren't in a conference that had lack of HD, lack of availability, and crappy announcers. Too bad the Utes don't have much different this year with KJZZ, next year though.

UJF88 is to the BEswell, what Viking is was to the B12. When do we get to meet the rest of the family?

Agreed. I'm not sure I understand the resistance to it. We can all dream about the b12, but if it's not an option, what are you going to do? And I'm also still fairly convinced that wed never be heard from again in the b12. I just don't think byu can compete on that level.

                  Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

                    This blows.

Those of you claiming how unstable the big 12 is, can you please explain to me why the Big East seems more stable?

It isn't. In fact it is less. To me the only argument that makes sense is that it is slightly better than independence, and that if it breaks up, we either go to something bigger (because as members of the club we are more attractive) or we could go back indy.

                      Tough call to make.

I'm coming around on this for two reasons: BCS access and...well, BCS access. Ok, a little bit for scheduling too. Doesn't the BE have to lose their AQ status to another conference for that to happen? Who's going to beat them out? And yeah, it may not be the NC game, but BCS bowls bring prestige and the worst of them beat out our current yearly date. By a lot. Regarding scheduling, I think we could have arranged agreements with all of these teams--until they got into this conference. Would BSU had forced their games with us earlier (I don't know...maybe these dates were set already).

Finally, we're in the game. Whatever conference realignment happens from here is only going to involve teams already in the mix. It would be a huge risk to sit this one out.

It's not the B12, but it's at least a neutral move, and probably avoids a backward one.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

I haven't seen anything much that says the BCS can just drop a conference and only have 5 AQ ones. They either have to have 6 BCS conferences, or drop the whole AQ system. Chuck Neinas was clammering about some Top 10 in the BCS goes to BCS games, but it's Chuck Neinas who's made claims about Missouri isn't leaving, and other crap. So take that with a grain of salt. Plus I'm sure a conference like the ACC who hasn't exactly been a power conference either in the past few years, how they would respond to that.

The good thing about not being affiliated with a conference and BYU being independent, is that they can buyout the games they don't need, and keep the really good looking teams on their schedule still.

Uh, Jeff, there's a little problem: the B12 has come and gone. Whether they are better (they are) is now moot.

I guess they could try something 11th hour...but I think their endgame is to maximize the TV deal under a ten team league until the era of superconferences is upon us and then everything is back up in the air again.

Who knows? They could come back but I don't think so. It's been weeks now of hearing nothing but how we are BEast bound.
