Well, this is certainly discouraging news.

What should be the conference championship game in the P12 is being played this weekend, even at the same venue. However, due to Southern Cal not being eligible the alternate representative from the South will visit Eugene.Originally posted by falafel View PostIs there no conference championship game?Get confident, stupid

The southern half (sans an ineligible SC) really sucks this year. UCLA shouldn't be considered for the Vegas bowl, let alone being in the driver's seat to make it to the P12 championship.Originally posted by HuskyFreeNorthwest View PostWhat should be the conference championship game in the P12 is being played this weekend, even at the same venue. Most schools, BCS or non AQ, will never play in one. Who cares. The weekly games are what matter to me.
I would rather play the weekly B12 schedule and see those teams in football and basketball and play in one BCS bowl game every 15 years than play that crappy Big East schedule while playing in a BCS bowl every 5 or 6 years.
If you arent winning the national championship, then ultimately, everything else is just a bowl game, so who cares if you play in the Orange or the Holiday or whatever non BCS bowl you wind up playing in.

I stated this in a different thread, or maybe this one I don't remember. I am not as sure that Rose is that against being the big fish in the WCC as most here. There is a lot to be said about being the big fish.Originally posted by jay santos View PostCan someone remind Holmoe and Samuelson we have a basketball program?Get confident, stupid

Ever? College football is changing. I have NO desire to commit ourselves to the worst of the "big boys". 27 month wait? Huge fees?Originally posted by Viking View PostThere's no question B12 is better. But what are we going to do, hold them up and make them let us in??
Unless they panic in the next 36 hours and bring BYU/UL, ain't happening.
I'd rather stick with indy for a while and see if something better pops up. Going to the BE right now reeks of impatient desperation.

What kind of exit penalty is this conference going to have?
I see Rutgers, UCONN, Louisville maybe South Florida (hopefully BYU?) getting better offers within a few years. Why would these schools have an incentive to sign anything with a serious exit penalty?
