Of course they are talking to BYU. If they are talking to Boyzee, AFA, UCF, SMU, Houston and Navy, they are talking to BYU.

What it doesn't mean is that BYU will join the BEast. And I believe they are smart enough to not join.

Big East Returns Fire

The Big East has filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against West Virginia, four days after the university sued the conference in a bid to make a quick exit for the Big 12.

The conference said the lawsuit was filed Friday in Rhode Island Superior Court seeking unspecified damages along with an order requiring West Virginia to stay put for 27 months in compliance with Big East bylaws.

A spokesman for West Virginia didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

West Virginia accepted an invitation from the Big 12 last week and wants to join for the 2012 season. The university filed a lawsuit Monday in Monongalia County Circuit Court. It seeks to declare the Big East bylaws invalid.

No. That is awful. We could get that crap as an indy without committing to a garbage conference with horrible exit rules.

I really don't want BYU to join the BE either. I would like the BE to expand westward though. That way when The PAC 12 is forced to expand they will be left with san jose state and UNLV as candidates to get to 16 teams.

Yeah, the PAC-12 is going to invite SJSU and UNLV.

The Big East isn't terrible with Boise State, Houston, SMU, Air Force, Louisville as a West division, but the schedule isn't any tougher really, however BYU has much easier access to a BCS game.
