Auburn loses Newton, Fairley, some o-linemen, and at least one of their safeties; Arkansas loses Mallett; Bama loses Ingram, Julio, and Dareus; LSU loses Miles (potentially); Florida has a first-year head coach.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostNow that auburn and the SEC have won, thereby "proving" the conference superiority, I suppose this means that we can expect 8 or 9 SEC teams to start next season ranked in the Top 15.
So 8 teams in the top 20, not 9 in the top 15."I don't know the origin of said bitch booming."-Art Vandelay

I think TCU. Oregon looked flat, their offense looked stymied, the voters love the SEC so Oregons defense won't get any credit for containing Cam Newton (even though that frosh RB had an epic game), and most importantly, Oregons star LMJ choked (no pun intended). Chip Kelly looked very oridinary and seemingly unable to make adjustments. In fact he kept making the same bad decisions over and over and he will be penalized for that FG call. TCU moves up.Originally posted by SeattleUte View Post3D, will it be Oregon or TCU at no. 2? I predict Oregon holds no. 2.
Crazy to think that the 2008 Utes had a better year than either Oregon or TCU in 2010.
Assuming LMJ comes back (this game really helps make that a certainty), I think Oregon will be the team to beat again in the PAC and will probably start the season ranked in the top 5, for sure top 10.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

As in African American loopholes? What are they?Originally posted by USU Coug View PostYou are taking this Auburn/SEC cheating thing worse than I am. And I just had my wife give me a lecture on how big of a baby I am being.
Its more than just Auburn cheating. Its more than all the recruiting violations that the SEC commits. Its more than all the oversigning. Its more than the AA loopholes the teams take advantage of. Its the South. This is where football is life. All the best athletes go to football. And they all want to play close to home. The SEC has been winning a lot more than the ACC. The winners keep winning. And top recruits go where they can win.

Utah wound up with a great many more no. 1 AP votes and higher ranked in the computers than either one of those teams will be. Auburn's victory tonight just reinforces the superiority of Utah's Sugar Bowl win against the Tide over TCU beating the cheese heads. Beating Wisconsin in pasadena doesn't compare to beating Alabama in the SUG.Originally posted by camleish View Post

Do we have any SEC fans here? I guess Boylen and New Mexican Disaster are fans.
Even as an SEC non-fan, I must admit that I was impressed by auburns defense. That front 7 was pretty enfermo. They were almost better than advertised, if that is possible.
Also, cam newton has that magic Johnson smile about him. I want to like him, except for the fact that he will wind up costing his school the championship and he will lose his Heisman. I'm pissed at the NCAA and its bizarre enforcement and interpretation of rules this bowl season.Fitter. Happier. More Productive.

I like Alabama, and while the SEC superiority gets overblown, they're still the strongest conference in the nation.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostDo we have any SEC fans here? I guess Boylen and New Mexican Disaster are fans.

Auburn is great against the run. They were the same way against Alabama. The Tide were better able to take advantage of the Tiger secondary when they jumped out to a 24-0 lead, though.
I was impressed with Michael Dyer. Kid was a 5-star recruit and the #1 or #2 RB, but still only a true freshman, and he's pacing the BCS champs."I don't know the origin of said bitch booming."-Art Vandelay

TCU ends up number 2 (deserved)
I had assumed SDSU might find it's way in. Oh well. Nice to see BYU get a vote.

I predicted as much. This definitely calls into question SeattleUte's analysis in this entire thread, esp in re: Utah Utes win over a disinterested Alabama team.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostFitter. Happier. More Productive.
