I think Hoffman will be a talented receiver. I wouldn't mind him at Utah at all. However, I think he'd be more of a Matthews type guy. Lacking shifty moves or great speed.

He's a solid receiver, though, no doubt.

If Apo is what he is advertised to be, then Hoffman is going to come out smellling like a rose. Hoffman would be a FANTASTIC second option to a stud wide out, if that is what Apo really is.

    • So how many Ute Fans got that warm feeling when BYU, with over a minute to go and the ball on the 25, decided to set up for a field goal and run out the clock?

I know I felt discord and confusion.
      Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Jordan Wynn joking around and laughing after getting benched was also a nice touch. I felt bad for Cain. The play calling was absolute shit. The O -line looked energized and the run worked in the 2nd drive. Is Cain better than Wynn? No. But it sure as hell looked like the playcalling was intended to prove that Cain shouldn't have been on the field.
You sure about that? Cain went in for Utah's first series in the second half, surely he was passing during halftime drills. Or are you saying he wasn't throwing during halftime?

Yeah, it is easy to nitpick that in hindsight, but I was definitely wishing that they had thrown it a couple more times given how well the drive had gone up to that point and given how much time was remaining. 40+ yard field goal is anything but automatic.

The rumor I heard is a broken arm.

Heaps is walking around in a sling with 3 cracked ribs.

            What a slugfest.

Just imagine if Wynn had suffered 3 cracked ribs... we would probably never see him again.

He's scared to death of getting hit now... just imagine.

I'm surprised he doesn't have them now with how quickly he belly flops.

Not possible. Unless Wynn does it getting sacked by the field or sliding for a 4th down.

Dude doesn't like to get hit.

How about tripping over his own two feet. Wynn doesn't slide. He trips as if he was shot by a snipper like soccer players do. However the difference between him and a soccer player is that he trips when nobody is around him.

                        Wrubell is disputing this, fwiw.

Official BYU FB injury update: Jake Heaps w/ sore non-throwing shoulder and contusion in rib area. Vic So'oto with jammed shoulder (MRI).

Not so. Joseph Smith also felt a sense of impending doom just before the First Vision started. Just after The Block I saw a pillar of light descending over the goalposts....
