You are making some huge assumptions here.

How long can this ESPN deal be sustained? Is it fair or feasible? So far what I see is a la the bottom half of non-AQ schools BYU is now non-conference homefield fodder for leading BCS schools, and BYU is playing a bunch of yawners at home. Most generously for BYU, the situation is all very fluid and experiemental now. BYU made a panic decision after Utah went to the Pac. Let's see how it works. I'm very sceptical. Those schedules that IAF posed were damning.

At bottom, though, the MWC isn't responsible for BYU's problems. BYU is. BYU will go mainstream and discard no sunday play, start acting like a secular university, etc. or it may become irrelevant. The MWC only did the logical thing to preserve itself.

Finally, the MWC will be fine. It will have Boise and TCU next year. Also, something will likely be worked out as it always is when a deal makes most financial sense, unless apparently you're BYU. Among universities, only BYU does things out of emotion, spite and wounded pride it seems.

Yeah, I don't see the "haha!" irony at all. The WAC gets to keep FSU and UNR for one year. Whoopdeedoo. After that, they get Montana and Texas-San Antonio. Not sure I see the win here.

        Oh, and SU:

You keep saying this, but that doesn't make it true. It appears that you want oh so desperately for it to be true, but that doesn't make it true either.

Totally. I heard that the only reason that BYU didn't leave sooner, was because they were honor bound to stay in the MWC as long as Utah was there. Utah knowing this, made the magnanimous decision to liberate BYU like the US liberated Kuwait.

I don't care. I'm speaking to you from the Pac 12. We don't have your problems. I'm just trying to help. You all would be better off if you questioned the representations made by BYU. But go ahead and bite the hand that feeds you. It is true that weak programs can schedule all the road games they want against top shelf BCS programs. It's always been that way. Where do you think the big teams get their early season patsies?

I think in order to claim the Pac12 you must first watch the games.

BYU had no resposibility to due diligence in the formation of the MWC or the TV deals?

                      Sure.

Please board mail me your bank account and routing number. For tax purposes, I cannot directly donate the funds to BYU, but only to a BYU fan, who can then pass them on to BYU.

You don't have to believe anything BYU has said to understand that this wasn't simply a "panic" move. All you have to do is look at the situation, and realize that it's not a move that could have come together in the span of two months.

The only reason I would reject the concrete evidence and look instead at the potential "[mis]representations" of BYU would be if I maintained some sort of deep antipathy and suspicion towards the LDS Church and all of its institutions and employees.

There are a lot of schools with holes in their schedule for next year, no? Big 12, WAC, and MWC.
