Bronco admitted to Wrubell that this was a mistake. He referred to a book he read on child prodigy's. That the main distinguishing characteristic about a child prodigy is that they choose a field and practice mastery of it from an extremely young age. He said the parallel is that if you're going to start a young player, the key is tons of practice and tons of reps. He also partially blamed the WR drop problem on lack of practice reps with Heaps. Not sure I buy it, but interesting.

10,000 hours of reps is supposedly what Bronco said.

Dude is admitting to a lot of mistakes this year.
So Russell...what do you love about music? To begin with, everything.

Yep. 10,000 is the number Wrubell threw out from reading either the same book or similar concept. The 10,000 number is what it takes for a child prodigy to become an expert in a field. The key is starting them early age 3 or 4 to get the 10,000 in. ie 1.6 hours a day every day from age 3 to 20. You become a starting D1 QB but you're an emotional wreck and you hate your parents.

The saddest one is that golfer can't remember his name he's in the top 10, about 28 years old white guy. I'll google and see if I can remember his name. Terribly sad story.

              10,000 hours = 40 hours a week for 5 years

I guess at least your a starting QB. Millions of kids are emotional wrecks and hate their parents but have nothing to show for it.

Good point. Maybe I should start with my 4 yo. The older ones will probably hate me and have no child prodigy skill to boot. What should I go for? How stupid would you have to be to create a chess child prodigy? Absolutely no market for it unless you're the #1 player in the world, and in that case you might eek out $100K per year.

Tennis or golf. You don't need to be a freakish athlete to succeed. Even if your kid is the best 20 yo QB on the planet, only one plays at a time and coach might not start him.
