But that explains the nice falsetto so prevelant at RES. Ute Fans have long been offering up their testicles for things. Indeed, Curtis Brown still has Steve Tate's hanging from his rearview mirror.

I had to edit my post when I realized THERE WAS a team more boring and less interesting than the Utes.

You have lots of equivalents, they are just more familiar to you now.

Another irrelevant oneliner. Do yourself a favor and suggest some reasons why you think Utah isn't dull. Who knows, maybe you'll convince some fence-sitters. (I'll acknowledge you with a CUF gold star if you can type more than two coherent sentences while doing so.)

Hmm..... Maybe we do. I doubt it though.

Knowing the company you keep on that other board, I'm flattered to not be 'one of yours.'

Wait...he is a Ute fan? How does that explain why this is the greatest football season in his lifetime and it has nothing to do with Utah being undefeated? And has he ever posted anything about the Utes anyway?

So what did you put first is his question. You are not very good at this.

Let's see if I'm up to your challenge..

                    • Utah trailed Iowa State 14-10 at the start of the second quarter Saturday. By halftime the Utes led 41-14. They wound up winning 68-27 against a team that beat Texas Tech the week before, and, in doing so, amassed one of the most remarkable stats I've seen. Between total offense (593 yards), kick returns (168), punt returns (156) and interception returns (109), Utah ball-handlers amassed a combined 1,026 yards. Naturally, the Utes dropped a spot in the AP poll.
                    Stewart Mandel

Shaky leads the nation in Punt Return Yards per Game.

Wynn is averaging an outstanding 158 passer rating for the season and has one game in his career with a passer rating below 110. (I know that's nothing compared to the amazing Jake Heaps.)

Utah is in the top ten in both 3rd down conversions (52%) and opponent 3rd down conversions (29%)

I know, not a lot to be excited about.

Just like that you have to compare Wynn to Heaps. Love it. BYU is always on your mind.

You're the fan of the team that earlier this year, with one win under its belt, was still predicting Jake Heaps would light Utah up this year and for three years after that. Also, by implying that SH was comparing Wynn to Heaps, it's cute that you think there is a comparison between Wynn and Heaps. There isn't.

I didn't see where he had backed off of that. He has said it more recently than week one. When we hang 50+ on BYU I'll invest the effort in bumping it.

50? With Wynn throwing 3 picks doubtful.

TCU did not hang 50 on BYU and they have twice the offense of Utah.

I think I take option A or over option B. Especially since Option A pays us money and option B costs us money.
It is great seeing you try to justify how going independent is such a better option than being in the Pac-10. I'm sure if the Pac-10 offers BYU tomorrow, they will go ahead and say no thank you. It is okay that when every bit of evidence points to something that Utah has being better, to say that it is better. You trying to justify independent is better than Pac-10 would be like trying to argue that Jim Boylen is a better coach than Dave Rose.

i have to agree that utah's season, overall to date, has not been very exciting. there have been exciting plays, and the Pitt game was exciting - Pitt seems to be turning their season around, so maybe that ends up being a better Win by November.

But, to bag on Utah's talent seems desperate. If the Utes continue to play like they have against ISU and against Wyoming (sans the interceptions), then the final 5 games should be exciting and get national exposure. I wouldn't be suprised to see the Gameday crew in SLC on 11/6 for the TCU game. Notre Dame will get the Utes noticed.

Also, I wouldn't say that TCU or Boise are getting tons of "love" from the national media - their early pre-season rankings make them relevant right now to the bcs talk, but there is still so much football to be played.

the utes are certainly not irrelevant - they are ranked #9 in the nation right now and entering into a competitive stretch of their schedule.
