ok folks, for hypo's sake, you are a blue chip, 5-star recruit. You are being heavily recruited all across the country.

Which hat do you pick today? where would you play if you could play at any school in the country?

It depends on what position I play.

If I am a pro style QB I go to SC.

If I am an athletic QB Florida

If I am a speed back I go to SC

If I am a power back I go to Ohio State

If I am a speedy wideout I go to Florida

If I am a possession receiver I go to SC

If I am a tight end I go to BYU

If I am an offensive lineman I go to Alabama

If I am a D-lineman I go to Tennessee (just so I can be coached by Ed Orgeron and Monte Kiffin)

If I am a linebacker I go to SC

If I am a DB I go to Miami

If I am a kicker I go to Florida State

I'd probably go with Notre Dame. Great campus, great tradition & fans, easy to find fellow students w/ strong religious background & you're pretty well guaranteed playing time if you're that good.

But, it's a crappy attempt to answer the hypo because blue-chip, 5-star recruits aren't people. Just future pro-ballers.

Given where I grew up (Northern Va.) and who recruits this area heaviest...I'd probably say Penn St.

Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

You could do a lot worse than signing up to play at PSU.

You mean hypothetically you're any random top recruit? Or you mean hypothetically each of us, as the individuals that we are, being a top recruit?

In the latter case, obviously I play for the Sooners. In the former case, I go somewhere where I have a chance of winning the title, or at least a bowl game.

My freshman year, our best player was committed to PSU and he broke his leg in the season opener. JoPa called him the next day and said the scholarship was still good. That was impressive, but what was even more impressive was PSU honoring the scholarship of a kid who was paralyzed in a game his senior year.

I would go somewhere that also has the most internationally respected research programs, so UCLA, Michigan, Stanford, etc. would be my favorite options among the D1 schools.

Wait a minute. You said 5-star.

                            Yeah, Texas it is.

And I imagine he's totally serious about Stanford.
