Catholicism: No football program wears its religion on its sleeve more than Notre Dame. Even BYU isn't obnoxious enough to have Jesus overlooking the end zone. It's that kind of "we're more special than you" attitude that makes me hope that Satan will one day crawl out of the Earth's mantle and raze the entire Notre Dame campus with a single crack of his fire lash.

I hope they get curb stomped.

I don't think it was Manti that Bronco gave an ultimatum to that was Schwenke - likely because Bronco knew he had lost Schwenke anyway. I really don't know what went down with Manti but I think it involved a party at BYU where there was alcohol. I don't know if Mendenhall put out some sort of agenda like he did for Van Noy or just got over the top with some rebuke to a kid who was a recruit and expecting his ass to be kissed - my instinct is the latter. Bronco is Bronco and while I would like BYU to get every great LDS kid, it has never happened and Bronco is not the greatest of recruiters. But, I tend to think that even "The Closer" himself would not have landed most of these kids. I tend to believe that most of them really just don't want to go to BYU and likely while Bronco's lack of interpersonal skills doesn't help in that regard, I think the bigger impediment is that BYU is just BYU. Look at Kav, if the others don't work out there is always BYU.

Schwenke is not going to play much at ND. He is not likely to be an NFL player, but he is still probably as good or better than many DL who will play a lot at BYU. One thing this type of methodology does is to permanently burn a bridge. Look at Kaveinga. Kaveinga led BYU on and eventually bailed on BYU, but because the bridge wasn't burned BYU was able to use a good college LB for two years who wasn't good enough to be a starter at USC and is not likely to be good enough to play in the NFL. However, methinks Mendnehall knows this and there was something else about the Schwenke deal other than him just bailing on BYU that led to Mendenhall reacting the way he did. While many like to paint Mendenhall as inflexible and stubborn to the point of stupidity, which I must admit there is plenty of anecdotal evidence to support such claims, I don't think he got to be as successful as he has been at times by being that stupid without believing he has a good reason to be so.

I was so pissed that Notre Dame was happy. There was no excuse for that game to be that close. I was at the other end of the stadium and when Ronnie caught the pass the Army team ran on the field as the play was designed for Ronnie to be in the endzone when he caught it. They thought he was in. I jumped on the cadet next to me and was holding him about the head when my balls got pulled through my throat.

I guess I should be honored that the Notre Dame still considers Army a bit of a rival, but I lost my balls through my throat and was made a pussy like Douger or Hsaru.

Manti Te'o did lose his grandmother this past fall. Annette Santiago died on Sept. 11, 2012, at the age of 72, according to Social Security Administration records in Nexis. But there is no SSA record there of the death of Lennay Marie Kekua, that day or any other. Her passing, recounted so many times in the national media, produces no obituary or funeral announcement in Nexis, and no mention in the Stanford student newspaper.
Nor is there any report of a severe auto accident involving a Lennay Kekua. Background checks turn up nothing. The Stanford registrar's office has no record that a Lennay Kekua ever enrolled. There is no record of her birth in the news. Outside of a few Twitter and Instagram accounts, there's no online evidence that Lennay Kekua ever existed.
The photographs identified as Kekua—in online tributes and on TV news reports—are pictures from the social-media accounts of a 22-year-old California woman who is not named Lennay Kekua. She is not a Stanford graduate; she has not been in a severe car accident; and she does not have leukemia. And she has never met Manti Te'o.
