2026 College Football Thread

When I was officiating high school football, my rated position was Field Judge. Should the game clock fail, I was required to keep time. As such, I had a watch that was designed around the purpose of keeping time in football games. It was the same watch used in the NFL and even had the logo. This watch kept time the exact same way as the official game clock in the Michigan game. It would go 00.09 with less than a second.

They got it right, but I understand the controversy. KWhitt lucked out, but it wasn't nefarious.

The footage the B1G released does show that there was time left on the clock. So it appears that NBC's clock being off caused this absolute shit storm.

On ESPN today, they reported that using the first-down line causes a delay of about 0.2 seconds. Looks like NBC is to blame.

Random college football thought: Texas A&M won't be able to fake their way into the CFP this year, as they actually have to play some of the good SEC teams this time. Last year Texas was the only SEC team they played from the top half of the conference standings. And well, they lost.

Another thought...the college football selection committee sucks. Absolutely terrible.
