Player participation report says neither Johnson nor Apo played. They need to redshirt Apo for sure.

Even if it was a couple of plays on special teams, with an injury you can still redshirt. aI believe it has to do with the amount of plays. Although it might have to be a season ending injury. Not sure on the official rules. Matt Asiata redshirted after he broke his leg vs. Oregon St. I believe Harvey did it in 06 as well. He had a couple of carries in the first game and broke his hip. Both of those were season ending injuries though.

But (apparently) Bronco has confirmed he played on special teams. If that's the case, I can see Bronco volunteering that information, even if its not in the official participation record.

Well it looks like he can't redshirt then unless the injury is a lot worse than what is being reported.

As a receiver, that injury could very well be season ending. It will take 6 weeks for the disrupted ligaments to heal and another 4-6 weeks to rehab the hand.

Edit: I'm basing this on the report of an open dislocation (bone protrudes through the skin)
