I agree with AV here. CSU had a great program before BVP came along, they also had legendary head coach SL.

TCU could very well fall off the map again after Dalton. The old CSU seems very similar to current TCU to me although I don't remember any star RBs on CSU. TCU had LT.

Coach Patterson got our 16 year old son to do something we have been trying to get him to do for a year and a half... finish his requirements to get his eagle scout rank. All Patterson said to our son at TCU mini camp was, "if you are an eagle scout then you put that at the top of your survey back to us. That is the kind of things we like to see." Our son finish his eagle scout this summer. For that he can play at TCU any day in my book.

Sorry if I don't feel that bad for TCU. After Sammy Baugh, they were a flat-out terrible program for 40 years. They've been decent since the late '90s, but it's only been the last five years that they've been really good. Sorry if the college football world doesn't bow down to you after five years of greatness.

I hate TCU. I don't like Gary Patterson. I openly rooted for BSU to kick their ass last year. My favorite Mountain West game not involving BYU is when TCU and Utah play and that's only because one of those two have to lose.

This is where Patterson has gotten smarter (he was always a great defensive coach). He's moved away from lead-footed pocket passers with little mobility. Jeff Ballard was slightly better in that regard, but Dalton is at another level.

The Paschall kid is supposed to be the real deal, too.

If how many people follow and care about your program is a measure of anything, then Notre Dame FTW. It doesn't translate into anything. I'd rather be one of ten excited TCU fans than 12M disappointed Notre Dame fans.

Patterson also made a good move when he brought in a new OC at the beginning of last year. It looks like it has really paid off. Their O was as good as their D was last year and I expect the same this year. TCU's offense might be better this year than they were last year.

Patterson has it figured out at TCU right now. I don't expect them to be going anywhere any time soon.

It would be tough to be TCU, and it always will be, considering what state they're in. I wonder how TCU from '08, '09, and '10 would fare in the Big 12. We'll probably never know. Shame.

In '07 they did. But really, '08, and especially '09? You think Texas was that much better? I might even give you '08, but I'm pretty sure '09 would've been close...probably a good game.

I have a ton of respect for TCU. I think Patterson is a good coach.

The Frogs are built on defense and the ground game. Losing their QB won't affect them as much as it does many teams. Will there be a drop-off? Sure, but it's well-timed, considering BYU and Utah are leaving the conference and they get Boise St at home in 2011.

They don't offer enough to a BCS conference, but the football (and baseball) team are very, very good.
