  • TCU - Who Cares?

I feel bad for TCU. They are the best team that nobody cares about. It kills them that teams like BYU and Utah get more love than they do, with inferior teams. All six of their fans are going nuts about BYU leaving.

I'm with you in feeling bad for them. TCU is a great team, but their problem is that they're in the same metropolis as the Cowboys and the same state as the Longhorns.

I like TCU and if they beat BYU (which I assume they will) will root for them to go undefeated and pass BSU in the BCS rankings. However, I think their program will take a preciptous drop once Dalton leaves, much like CSU did once BVP graduated.

College football never has been about who is the best on the field. It's always been about who is the most popular. Until there is a 16 team playoff, it will always be that way.

Easy there. Peterson Patterson has built something really good there that started before Dalton. Will be interesting to see how long he can sustain it if the fans don't start showing more support.

Maybe I'm missing your sarcasm though, so burn on me.

I like TCU as well but BH is right. The really don't have a large fan base. I have heard estimates that they only have about 50K to 75K living alumni and 25K of those live in the DFW area. At the Ore State game last week they started selling $25 tickets last minute to get people to come.

Because TCU doesn't have any talented underclassmen QBs on the roster?

Are you talking about Boise or TCU? Boise's coach is Peterson, TCU's is Patterson.

I disagree with this. TCU was a really really good team before Dalton and they will continue to be a great team after he leaves. TCU has it figured out. They have built a great program and they will still be really good once Dalton leaves.

One could argue (quite easily) it has been the premiere program of the MWC over the last 5 years. With that said it will be very difficult to replace what Dalton has given them. He is tough, smart and the perfect athlete for their system. Patterson teams will always be built around a tough super fast defense, but Dalton is what has given them the offense to become one of the nations elite.

Again I like TCU and actively root for them in every game but one. I like Patterson, but it will be interesting to see what becomes of the MWC once BSU is forced to replace both Utah and BYU.

EDIT: I really know very little about TCU and their recruits. My original statement was meant to be more of a compliment to Andy Dalton than to disparage the rest of the program

I heard them say on the broadcast that attendance for that game was 46K. TCU does great things on the field but that is just sad.
