Hill has you all fooled just like his dumb fan base. They didn't swap out BYU for Michigan, they swapped BYU for Fresno State. Hill said the schedule would be too hard with both BYU and Michigan on it. He is a whiny little bitch that is the perfect representative of that entire fan base. I am embarrassed to share a state with those ass clowns. I wish Isis would crash a plane right in to the middle of the stadium during that game.

I want to play Utah. I would appeal to their better selves. Believe it or not, USU was once a football powerhouse in the state and BYU hardly ever beat them.

When BYU became dominant over USU, did we stick our nose up to them? No, we kept treating them very well with home and homes. Utah could learn something from how we acted.

But the fact of the matter Utah was just sitting there when Larry Scott thought that he had Texas and Oklahoma in the bag. He offered Colorado and they accepted immediately, Oklahoma and Texas stayed put and now he was stuck with Colorado and had to add someone. If he had withheld that invitation to Colorado and then learned that Texas and Oklahoma weren't coming the Pac would still have 10 teams today. It was more luck and circumstance than anything.

I think it is fair to give Hill significant credit for getting Utah in the Pac. He has been a fabulous AD for the U and has done well, IMO, with their two major programs. Certainly, just as external circumstances play a huge role in keeping BYU out external circumstances benefitted Utah. I expect the ever powerful ec to be in BYU's favor here shortly!

But I feel for him about the unfair treatment of Utah when they play BYU. Just as BYU is rueing it carrying on in the 80's that Utah was not really a rival these conditions change in time. Hill was around in those days and it appears he did not forgive.

Agree. However, UT and OU were never really in the bag-especially OU. CU had been flirting with the PAC-10 for many years and you are correct that CU was gone from the Big 12 as soon as they got an invite from the PAC-10. When the PAC-10 and UT couldn't come to terms, Scott could have said "Not now" to CU and stayed at 10 teams. But the circumstance that changed that outcome was Nebraska getting wind of the PAC-12 discussions and consequently approaching Jim Delany about a possible invite to the Big Ten. When Nebraska to the Big Ten materialized, Scott had additional incentive to get the PAC-10 to 12 teams and went forward with inviting CU and got Utah on the phone.

Chris hill says this stuff because he can. Yes he is twisting the screws on BYU but it is great trolling. How coincidental that basically the same day that hill reiterates that Utah has outgrown BYU, BYU announces a four game series with UVU!

This allegedly dumb person helped guide Utah into a p5 invite. Maybe Tom should be less intelligent like Chris hill and get a little more nasty. Of course it doesn't help that our football coach can't really figure out how to beat the Utes, either.

I get it- sincerely. What I don't get is 1. pretending that leaving BYU off the slate is in Utah's best interest and 2. pretending that they had to leave BYU off the slate in order to play Michigan. And that line about how the deep dark secret is that Utah fans aren't disappointed?

I think the dropping of BYU if they were honest is they have nothing to gain by beating us a a lot to lose if they don't. I guess you could call that "chickening out".

There must be Utah fans that are dissapointed Utah isn't playing BYU. There are plenty of Utah fans where I play golf though and I have never heard one complain they aren't playing us. Maybe they also are afraid.

We have had to leave teams off the slate in order to play some big fish. One that comes to mind is switching out Idaho State/UNLV for Missouri. That's a switch. Now we could have ducked a Utah State or Boise game and pretended that was the trade-off and it would have been about the same thing we're talking about here.

The real reason is that the good folks at the uofutah don't like the image of its fanbase that emerges from the rivalry game. Not a good move by the dr. Those guys need a release at least once a year

During BYU's hey day when Utah was pretty much a given win, I would have gladly replaced the Utes with Michigan, Texas, ND, USC, UCLA, etc.
