Missouri has apparently desperately been trying to get a final ooc opponent for 2015, so it makes sense from their side. Maybe Holmoe is doing some reshuffling.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostHe must mean 2016. We already have too many games next season. He definitely was talking about 2015. In his "hypothetical" 2015, he talked about road games at Nebraska and Michigan as well as the possibility of scheduling Missouri.Originally posted by TripletDaddy View PostHe must mean 2016. For the life of me I don't understand all the talk lately about BYU losing because they aren't in a conference and have nothing to play for. Equally perplexing is talk of joining the MWC or AAC. The local media have been saying this for a while but I'm surprised at how much is coming from BYU fans lately. I understand it would be better to be in the Big-12 or PAC-12, but that isn't in the cards now. But I don't understand how being in a conference, just to be in a conference, will improve anything for BYU. I know there are some on this board that think this, what am I missing? BYU as an independent allows BYU to have a better schedule than being in the MWC or AAC (given that probably half of BYU's games are with those two conferences). But there are PAC-12 schools on the schedule, B1G schools on the schedule, Big-12 schools on the schedule.

Because BYU fans are dumb. You are correct in your assessment. Independence is better than the AAC or MWC. But not better than the Big or Pac.Originally posted by USUC View PostFor the life of me I don't understand all the talk lately about BYU losing because they aren't in a conference and have nothing to play for. Being in the MWC BYU would now have 3 losses, right? Um...tell me more about how there would be a conference championship race?Originally posted by USUC View PostFor the life of me I don't understand all the talk lately about BYU losing because they aren't in a conference and have nothing to play for. Sorry - you might be able to drag that poor argument out if their only loss is non-conference. But at this point? Even in conference it wouldn't matter. Unless it is exciting to someone to find out if they are 1 - going to get bowl eligible, and 2 - going to the Albuquerque bowl or the (gee - I don't even remember what other bowls are out there for the MWC non-champion bowl goers.) Exciting.Last edited by Eddie; 11-03-2014, 12:16 PM. Reason: Not sure why the Hot Lunch quote was in there, so I took it out. Too much pub tends to go to his head...

Someone really important in the BYU admin failed to recognize that Indy < Big 12 (albeit a vulnerable one) circa 2011.Originally posted by cougjunkie View PostBecause BYU fans are dumb.
