I don't get the whole "we must be renovating LES" during 2016 line of thinking.
1. We already have 1 home game scheduled
2. Where in the world would they play home games? By rule, you need 5 home games on your schedule. There is no where else to play home games in this state. Rio Tinto? No way. RES? no chance. That's it.

With all the PAC12 games we are scheduling, I have a hunch we are going to the PAC12. I think the California droubt is humbling some people.Originally posted by OSUCougar View PostThere has to be. Either TH is holding back announcing all of our home games until a big special announcement day or something is going on. Possibities are both fascinating and scary.

Really? There are rumors of stadium renovations? Put that money towards coaching salaries.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostI don't get the whole "we must be renovating LES" during 2016 line of thinking.

Might not be renovations but it seems unlikely it is just coincidence that we have one game so far that year. not to mention we schedules 2 neutral games.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostI don't get the whole "we must be renovating LES" during 2016 line of thinking.

Southern Miss' athletic dept. has some debt issues so they are looking for revenue by playing away games against anyone who will pay. Nebraska has a 2-1 contract with Southern Miss and Nebraska "bought out" the game in Hattiesburg for $2.1M so all 3 games will be played in Lincoln (2 have already been played and Southern Miss is on the 2016 schedule). The $2.1M was used to buy out the fired coach's contract (he was fired after one 0-12 season and had 3 seasons left on his contract). Still the Southern Miss athletic dept is in bad shape.Originally posted by LiveCoug View PostWe now have a 2nd home game in 2016. Southern Miss is coming to LES in November. So now that makes USM and USU, both in November. I guess that's better than Savanna St.
Southern Miss' recent downward trajectory has been somewhat surprising. The Golden Eagles went to a bowl game every season from 1997-2011 save for 2001. In 2011, they were ranked in the Top 20 after going 12-2. In 2004, they beat Nebraska in Lincoln during Bill Callahan's first season. In retrospect, that defeat wasn't that shocking since Nebraska would have its first losing season in 40+ years but at the time, it was a big upset.“Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory.”

I'm just frustrated because they've asked us to be patient with these schedules and this year's is a step back.
I loved last year's, we bought 10 tickets, and we had a great time.
I don't expect what we had last year every year, but I expect better than we have this year. Nobody wants to come play in Provo. Will donate kidney for B12 membership.
