  • Red Dead Raider Redemption: Official Big 12 Championship Game Thread

For the first time in the history of the world, BYU completely controls their own destiny with a path to the Natty. No polls, committees, or gentiles can keep BYU out if they win the game ahead of them. No unhallowed hand can stop BYU if they win the next game. And then keep winning each week until the work is done.

Texas Tech is good. But so is BYU. And this week we will be better. The beatdown administered by Bear and the boys will be one for the ages. Rise and shout!

Standard of Truth has been erected; No unhallowed Feinbaum hand can stop the work from progressing; persecutions may rage, Twitter mobs may combine, P2 fanboy armies may assemble, pundit calumny may defame, but the truth of BYU Football will go forth boldly, nobly, and no longer independently (Thanks B12!), till it has penetrated every pre-season poll, visited every stadium, swept every alleged blue blood program, and sounded in every sports radio listener's ear, till the purposes ofLaVell shall be accomplished and the BOT shall say the work is done.

I chuckled at this; although I’m not sure why you attributed it to SWK. HJG was the prophet in 1922 when BYU played its first intercollegiate football game.

Should be JFS, Jr., since he was prophet when St. Lavell was promoted to HC. Until then pretty much every unhallowed hand was stopping the football work.

I believe the original was based of an SWK talk.

Ahh, gotcha. SWK may have said that in a conference talk but he would have been quoting the OG JS from 1842.

On Monday on BYUSN there was a fantastic segment with Trevor Mattich talking about what he noticed while watching the game film from the last BYU/TT game. He mentioned several specific adjustments BYU can make to exploit what TT was doing. It sounded great to me, like he could see a realistic scenario for things going well for BYU. I'm much more of a basketball guy, so football Xs and Os talk goes a little over my head, but it was a great interview. I suggest finding the episode and watching. Mattich cones on about 15 minutes in. I know a number of you hate byusn because of the goofiness of the hosts or Jarom's bad hair or whatever, but they do a great job with the guests, I think.
